The next day Daena had barely slept the night before, instead she walked the halls on Dragonstone. She then stood infront of the throne deep in thought when she was startled by a hand on her shoulder.
"Oh mother its you."
Rhaenyra tucked her daughter's hair behind her ear. "What's wrong my sweet?" Rhaenyra asked.
"No sleep."
"I understand." Her mother answered and placed a hand on her daughter's turning to the throne aswell.
"How did you..... how do you do it?" Daena asked.
Rhaenyra knew what she was talking about and kissed her daughter's hand. "I heard about the loss of your child that is something no one should experience that but as for your question...... I haven't... your brother's death will forever be a mark on my memory."
"It feels like someone has taken my entire soul and crushed it, sometimes I cry so hard I can't breathe and all I can think about is how cruelly Luke died and how my child could never look upon my face and know how much his mother loved him or how much he would be loved and cherished. I will never see my baby brother again. I will never get to hold my baby again. Not a day goes by I don't wake up thinking about them. I still feel the pain of delivering my lifeless child in my chest and it hurts when I remember. I am angry. I am sad and I don't know how to make it stop." Daena cried. "I never even got to say goodbye.
Rhaenyra pulled her daughter into a hug. "I know."
"Does it ever get better?"
"After I loss my mother the pain of grief began to fade with time but this is something different, my father was taken from me by the gods, my throne was taken from me by my own blood and my son was murdered by my half brother. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that I will make sure they get what is coming to them." Rhaenyra said wiping her daughter's tears.
"I should get some rest." Daena said and kissed her mother's cheek before leaving. She walked back to her room feeling slightly lighter after talking about it for the first time. When she entered the room a chill traveled down her back and noticed the curtains were drawn. Daena starred at them and walked towards them slowly. As she was about to open them, the door closed behind her.
Daena turned around in fear to see a man in a cloak and hood, he then lifted his head revealing his face.
