It was 6:30 in the morning and I was sitting at my vanity blow drying my hair. I had waken up earlier so I could take a shower and get ready for the reading I had to go to.
A few months back, I had auditioned for a role in Stranger Things, season four. Two weeks after, I was called and told I got the role. At first I was suspicious, because I didn't need to at least do one more callback but I was happy, none the less.
Once my hair was back to it's natural, wavy self, I turned the dryer off. I had decided that today, I was gonna just put my hair up in a ponytail but curl the ends. So getting up to grab my curling iron, I pushed my chair back and walked to my bathroom where I last saw it.
I finished curling, styling and spraying my hair when I realized I had yet to choose an outfit so from there, I got up and pushed open the doors to my closet. Let's not be mistaken, my closet is not small so it won't be a quick choose and be done. No, it would take a while which isn't normal for me. The only time I really care about my outfit is first days. I want something that stands out but not something that screams, "LOOK AT ME!" I want something that makes a good impression but something that isn't over the top. I want something that shows a character I'm about to play but represents me. Something that's comfy but stylish, not, comfy and makes me look lazy. Things like this, are what makes me take so long!
In the end I picked out my outfit in under 20 mins which is less then last time. I went with baggy tan pants, a white t-shirt, and black ankle boots and just in case I got cold, I grabbed a tan blazer to match with my pants.
Right after finishing my makeup and jewelry, I grabbed a purse which had my: mask, keys, wallet, ID and driver's license, my script, and a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.
I threw on my jacket and locked up all the doors before heading out to the garage. I lived an hour away from the location of the reading so pressing one of the many unlock buttons on the lanyard, I unlocked- what turned out to be- my black jeep and got into the driver's seat, placing my bag in the passage seat.Let's be clear so you understand. When I say "one of the many unlock buttons" I mean randomly selecting a key and hitting unlock.
I have an obsession with vehicles. I have around thirty-one as I will buy them off people and fix them up if needed or I will just buy them. And every time I get a new vehicle, it of course comes with a key or key fob, to which I put on the lanyard so I never lose it.
I always randomly select because I love all my vehicles and have no favorite so to me driving anyone of them is fine.▪︎ 》▪︎ 》▪︎》
I was about seven minutes away from the location when I decided to stop at a Starbucks drive threw.
The wait was about three minutes long, they said they were short staffed but it sure didn't seem like it, based on how many workers I saw through the window. My guess, they were slacking off and being silly.I spent the next few minutes focusing on getting to the office, forgetting all about the situation.
Pulling up to the location, I was asked for my info at the gate.
"Elizabeth Emmaliese Carmen." I said to the guard.
"ID please." Reaching over the console, I pulled my ID out of my wallet. After passing it to him he asked another question. "What are you here for?"
"Read through, Stranger Things Season four" I said with a small smile.
"Okay and who are you playing?" He asks, passing me back my ID and picking up a list.
"Savanah Keeliey (keel-e)/000/Akasha" he gives me a smile before opening the gate.
"Alright your good to go, have a good day ma'am" I thank him before passing through.
