Summary: Oz switches between hobbies too quickly for Milo to keep track of. One day the fearling is obsessed with baking and the next he's learning origami, and Milo mostly let him do his thing.

A/N: This is also an idea I've had since beginning this book.

Day #20: Date Night

Milo and Oz have been dating for a while now, even sharing an apartment together, and the reaper has noticed a few things about their fearling. For one, he was incredibly attractive, but he also found a new hobby every day... or at least it felt like it.

One day Oz will be gushing about beekeeping every chance he could get, and then the next day he'll talk about the intricacies of bowling. Milo tried to keep up at first but gave up after a week or two of new information that was too random to keep track of.

So, whenever Oz found a new hobby to share, Milo would always listen to their boyfriend, but would hardly remember the information by the next day. For the most part, that actually worked out pretty well for the two.

That was until one day when Oz brought up photography, and Milo perked up at the shared interest. They've been wanting to learn more about photography in order to take better pictures for the Milovers, but never found the time of day. Thankfully, they had their amazing boyfriend to share all the information he learned with them.

The two both had the night off and decided to have an impulsive date night where they would take pictures of the city they lived in. A very simple concept, Milo must admit, but they would also have to admit it was the best date they'd ever been on.

Taking pictures of the bright city lights that they walked past every day, occasionally sneaking one or two pictures of Oz when they could. The fearling just brushed off the surprise pictures, but Milo always noticed the blush that spread across his face when he thought they looked away.

It was simple, an easy way to not worry about anything outside of this moment, because right now was all that mattered. Taking pictures of people rushing to the subway, street lights transitioning between their colors, and the few pedestrians that were just enjoying the night like the couple.

Oz eventually suggested the idea of getting an aerial view of the city from the top of their apartment building, which Milo immediately agreed to. So they travel up the building, disrupting a few monsters' sleep in the process, but they made it up to the roof nevertheless; and my god was it a breathtaking view.

You could see the lights create an ambient glow onto the street that only added to the beauty of their city. Oz even noticed a couple of stray cats walking along one of the buildings, which he quickly took a picture of.

"Wow, just wow..." Milo says, too distracted by the world around them to pull out their phone and take a picture. Oz smiled before kissing them on their cheek and responding with a small, "Yeah."

Oz didn't really mind pursuing his hobbies alone, he's been doing it for centuries after all, but enjoying a new hobby with his partner was a whole new feeling. The two just running in the night taking pictures of whatever interested them forced a smile on Oz's face.

"Honestly darling," Milo starts, finally breaking out of the trance the city put them under. "I can't understand if you switch hobbies after this, I know I couldn't."

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind keeping this hobby for another 24 hours, but I can't control what I'll obsess over tomorrow." Oz jokes before sitting down on the ledge of their building, feet dangling over a five-story drop. Milo joined him shortly after, though they would admit they were a bit worried about falling over.

"I never asked," Milo starts after sitting down. "How come you like to switch between hobbies so fast?"

The night went silent and Oz tried to formulate a response that could be at least a little bit comprehensible. He's been shifting between hobbies since the beginning of time and he never exactly knew why, it was just something he always did.

"I guess," Oz begins after several moments of silence. "After thousands of years of people coming up with new past-times, I can't help but want to experience them all myself, you know?"

Milo listened as Oz continued, "Whenever I see people pursuing something they're passionate about, I can't help but feel motivated to try the same thing in hopes of feeling what they're feeling."

Milo couldn't help but smile at their boyfriend's explanation, it was just so Oz.

"You're adorable, you know that?" Milo asked Oz, who promptly blushed and looked down to the city street below them.

"How can I forget when you remind me every day?" He jokes, trying to recover from the surprise compliment, but Milo responds back with a comment that just made Oz's face ten times darker.

"And yet you still blush every time I remind you."
