Katai headed over to Kunikida's house after he and Sigma had gone their separate ways. He knocked on the door.

Kunikida answered it. "Hey, Katai."

"Hi! Guess what?" Katai asked.

"What?" Kunikida stepped aside so he could let Katai in.

Katai walked in and that was when he saw Dazai.

Dazai smiled and waved.

Katai waved back.

Kunikida glanced at Dazai. "Is it cool if he's here to tell me whatever happened?"

"Kunikida, I know I was jealous at one point. But I'm not anymore," Dazai replied, laughing a little.

"Fair enough."

"Plus, I'm interested to hear whatever's going on, too."

Katai sat in the chair, and Kunikida went back to sitting with Dazai on the couch. He was grinning from ear to ear.

"Spill the tea!" Dazai urged.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Kunikida asked.

Katai kept grinning. "I asked Sigma if he wanted to go somewhere with me."

"And what'd he say?" Kunikida wanted to know.

"He said yes! So we went out for ice cream a little earlier."

"That's great!"

"Yeah!"

Dazai looked at the two longtime best friends. He was definitely confused, but he did remember Sigma. It had been fun when he asked the man to dance and Sigma absolutely hated it.

Katai noticed. "I suppose I should fill you in. So I ran into Sigma the other day and we've started becoming friends."

Kunikida discreetly gave his friend a skeptical look.

Katai glanced at Kunikida. "Shush, Kunikida."

Kunikida smiled slyly. "I didn't say anything."

"Maybe not out loud, but you sure did give me a look."

"No, I didn't."

"Yes, you did."

"No."

"...I think you've been spending too much time with Dazai. You're starting to sound like him."

Dazai pretended to be offended. "Hey, I'm right here."

"I know. That's why I said it," Katai replied.

Dazai looked at Kunikida and pouted. "Katai's so mean. What did I ever do to him?"

"Let's see, you acted all jealous one time when you saw us hanging out," Kunikida began.

"You're supposed to take my side." Dazai clung to Kunikida's arm and fake cried.

Kunikida sighed and patted Dazai's head. "There, there."

Katai laughed a little. It was always nice to see his longtime best friend happy with the one he'd come to love.

After awhile, Dazai calmed down. "Ok, I'm calm. What were we talking about?"

"The way Kunikida sounds way too much like you," Katai replied.

"This is good! It means I'm rubbing off on him."

"And how is that a good thing?"

"That's so mean! I'll have you know it's good because he needs to learn to relax."
