"What's wrong?", Stephanie immediately asked the moment we stepped outside the classroom.
"Nothing," I casually replied.
"There has to be something, cause you look like you've done the worst thing in your life"
I stopped during a second, scared that she might have found something out.
I had to pretend like what she just said didn't affect me.
Quick, a diversion!
"No way, you know I am always right!"
She just laughed, that was close.
"So, how are things with John?", I know it could ruin my cover, but my curiosity was bigger than anything.
"Oh good, I haven't seen him today but we are just fine!"
So he kept the secret... Not that I didn't trust him or anything, Steph just had this stare that looked through you, trying to find if you were hiding something from her.
Stephanie was talking but I wasn't listening, I was looking at Meghan who was standing behind her, waiting for our conversation to end.
I told Steph that I had to do something before slowly walking towards Meg.
She shyly smiled at me and I grinned back.
"Hey," she greeted me.
"Hey"
"Could we take a coffee or something?" she carefully asked.
"What, now?"
"Oh don't give me this look, you know the director loves your dad and you can skip school whenever you like!"
"And his money," I whispered to myself.
"Alright"
"Is that a yes?"
"I don't know, maybe," I playfully replied.
She shook her head before putting her arm around my shoulders and I smiled at her.
"Like old times, huh?"
"Like old times," she beamed back.

"I am sorry!", we said at the same time.
"No I am sorry!" we continued in perfect synchronisation.
We laughed at our telepathic super powers.
"No seriously, I am really sorry for all the trouble I caused you. Even if Bryan is my brother, this is between you guys, I shouldn't interfere."
"Well it doesn't matter anymore," I tried to keep a blank face but I failed miserably.
"Why?"
"Because he hates me and I hate him."
"Oh come on guys, what are you, three-years-olds?"
"You don't really know each other because you haven't hanged out with each other a lot, I am more fabulous than him so you want to hang out with me more, and that's totally understandable!", she joyfully continued.
"Yeah, right!", I rolled my eyes at her.
"What would you like?", the server interrupted us.
"A cappuccino and a macchiato please," Meg ordered while looking at him like he was a candy. You know the look you give to a sweet, like 'I am going to eat you because I love you'.
"Stop it!", I laughed when he left.
"Stop what?" she innocently asked.
"Come on, don't play the innocent girl, I saw how you looked at him! Don't worry, you are going to have your prince charming, one day!"
"Well I hope so! You too, but firstly you should stop sleeping with every guy you know!" she answered.
My smiled faded and I absorbed the shock of her response, it was like a knife in the middle of my chest.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't have said that...", she sheepishly said.
"No, that's fine. I should be responsible for my actions and there is nothing bad in stating that I lied to you, I can totally understand that you are angry at me for lying to you."
"I really am sorry," sincerity had filled her voice.
"I really am sorry too," I smiled at her and she smiled back.
This is the moment I realised, while looking at her, that something broke between us, maybe a part of our trust, and that even if we worked on it, nothing would ever be like before between us.
"Here are your orders, ladies" the server announced.
"Thank you!" Meg cheerfully replied while offering one of her beaming smile. He seemed baffled for a second before grinning back.
"And here is the bill," he gently gave it to Meg.
"Oh, you wrote your number at the bottom, does that mean I have to call you?" Meghan asked.
"You don't have to do anything, you decide if you want to call me or not. I just thought I had to try and see again a beautiful girl with a radiant smile, that seems amazingly nice. Oh, and I already paid for you two, I just gave you the bill to give you my number."
"Alright, well we will see," she replied while looking at him as he was a God.
He bowed before leaving and I started hysterically laughing, I couldn't keep my laugher any longer.
"Guys, get a room!" I exclaimed as soon as we stepped out of the chic cafe.
She laughed with me and we walked towards the Mall, where we would spend the rest of our afternoon, just like old times.
