Chapter 29: The Aftermath

It's been half an hour since the police have taken Priya and now Reema has taken the opportunity to belittle Shourya and Meera.

"Yeh saab tumhari waja se hua hai. Suman Bhabhi aapki bahu se mere Rohan ki kushi dekhi nahi hui. Uski nazar lag gayi aur Priya ki bhoodhi brasht ho gayi."

(All of this happened because of you. Suman bhabhi, your daughter-in-law could bear the sight of my Rohan's happiness. She ward an evil eye onthim, which caused Priya to lose her mind.)

Suman looks over at Raj and Neel, she's itching to say something but she doesn't want to even address that woman. Sunita Devi is stunned at her younger daughter-in-law, after everything that has happened how is she still blaming the innocent?

Shourya steps in front of Meera, hiding her away from the mad woman.

"Chachi, maine pehli bhi kaha tha ki aap ya aapki bahu Meera ke aas paas bhi dikhe toh bohot bura hoga. Kaha tha na. Priya ka haal toh aap dekh hi chuki hai, aab aap apni hadh par mat karien."

(Chachi, I told you before that if either you or your daughter-in-law wander around Meera then it won't be good. I told you. You've seen Priya's situation, now you don't cross your limits.)

"Shourya, yeh aapni hadh par kr chuki hai. Aur bohot pehle hi kr chuki thi. Aab mein woh karunga jo mujhe pehle hi kr dena chahiye tha."

(Shourya, she has already crossed her limits. And crossed the, a while back. Now I'm going to do what I should have done earier.)

"Neel beta, kya karoge?"

(Neel, son, what are you going to do?)

"Reema aapne bags pack kro aur kuch dino ke liye aapne bhai Bhabhi ke ghar chali jao. Aur batana ki kyun aayi ho. Tab tak tumhare liya yahan ek alang kamra tayar krwa dunga. Aab mera tumse koi lena dena nahi hai. Iss ghar mein koi bhi kushi aaye, tumhe mein shamil nahi krunga. Paeson ka bohot ghamand hai na, aabh dekhlo ki apne kharche kaise karogi, kyunki mein toh bilkul nahi krne wala. Hamesha tumhari baaton mein aa kr meine tumhe saar pr bhitaya hai. Ab aur nahi. Pani sar se upar ja chuka hai."

(Reema, pack your bags and go stay with your brother for a few days. And do tell them why you're there. Until then, I'll organise a seperate room for you here. Now I have nothing to do with you. This family will have many happy moments, but I won't include you. You're very proud of money, now you worry how you're going to pay for your expenses. Because I'm not going to. I've always listened to you, made you feel like a queen. But not anymore.)

"Neel, mere bhai. Soch le, woh teri biwi hai."

(Neel, my brother. Think about it, she's your wife.)

"Nahi bhai, issne aur Rohan ne mujhe bohot baar sharminda kiya hai. Khabhi school ke PTMs mein Rohan ne, toh khabhi dikava kr ke rishtedaaron aur dosto ke saamne Reema ne. Agar Shourya nahi hota toh mein mere saabse khaas dost se nazar nahi mila pata. Aur abhi Meera ko shadi kr ke aaye hue chaar din nahi hue, woh abhi ghar rehne nahi gayi , bache kahin ghoomne nahi ge aur Reema ne uska saans lena mushkil kr diya hai."

(No bhai, I've been ashamed multiple times because of her and Rohan. At the school PTMs because of Rohan, and because of Reema's show off, in front of relatives and friends. And if it wasn't for Shourya, then I would never have been able to speak with my best friend. Meera has only just come here after getting married, she is yet to go home to stay, the kids haven't gone anywhere for a holiday and Reema has made the poor things life difficult.)
