NOT MANY KIDS STOOD up against the Bakugō Katsuki. Or really any kid. They all avoided him whenever he'd patrol the park or school hallways with his lackeys, especially when little Midoriya Izuku, or "Deku" as Katsuki liked to call him, found himself being harassed by Katsuki and his friends. Nobody ever helped Izuku...except for one person who didn't let Katsuki's ways affect him in the slightest. Though they did get annoyed with him.
That person was no other than Bakugō (name), Katsuki's brother. ((name) is actually Katsuki's cousin but his aunt and uncle later adopted him as their "son" after his parents died during a villain attack.)
At first, Katsuki and (name) didn't know how to handle each other's presence, but over time, they eventually treated each other like any two brothers would. They didn't get into fights much, but if they did it wasn't anything personal ― boys will be boys, as they say.
Although...there was one thing (name) would often get mad at Katsuki for, and wouldn't you guess it, it had to do with how he treated Izuku. (name) never met him until one day he walked in on Katsuki threatening Izuku with his quirk after shoving him into the sandbox at a nearby park. And nobody could describe how angry (name) felt.
Both Izuku and Katsuki were shocked when (name) ran in front of Katsuki right as he ignited small flames over his fist that was about to punch Izuku's face dead center. Luckily, (name) didn't suffer any damage; it was just a bloody nose. Katsuki couldn't say a word, though, only stood there eyes wide at his brother's actions while Izuku stuttered over his words of concern for the other boy. All (name) did was send Izuku an apologetic smile from over his shoulder, some blood going over his lips, then grabbed Katsuki by the hand and pulled him toward their house where Mitsuki yelled at Katsuki for bullying Izuku (again) and hurting his brother. She went easy on (name) since he protected Izuku, but he still got an ear full for his reckless actions.
All that can be said is every day was pretty much the same going forward, except the more and more (name) went from talking to Katsuki to protecting Izuku, pulling him away so those two could be alone without Katsuki, said male found himself becoming absolutely pissed off, sometimes resulting in harsher comments thrown at Izuku.
Izuku, on the other hand, befriended (name). Learning about his specific relationship with Katsuki he doesn't mind calling him a dumbass for the horrible way he treats Izuku, he felt...safe; relieved he won't have to spend every day in fear of what Katsuki will do to him.
It was...a complicated situation.
Two best friends restraining what little time they can spend together due to a third party limiting any contact, demanding them to stay far apart and cursing their very relationship's existence.
Katsuki hated it...he despised the smiles those two exchanged for no reason at all while he'd be left behind all alone, his brother no longer standing at his side. How cruel can things be? Katsuki isn't so evil he wishes depression and loneliness on his very own brother he knows didn't go through the easiest childhood (Katsuki admits he didn't make things any simpler) but Deku...
No, not just Izuku, anyone who took all of (name)'s time he'd usually spend conversing with Katsuki, talking about their day even if nothing interesting happened...
