"May I come in, Sir?"
"Ahh, Miss Malik, please come in." Mr. Dior, my boss, replied. Always the cheerful one. "Have a seat."
It's truly a blessing to work under a such good employer. And I'm immensely thankful for it.
I sat down on one of the two chairs in front of his desk. He came back to his seat from near the bookshelf he was standing before and sat down as well.
"How's your work coming along? Are your colleagues cooperating?" He started.
"I'm getting used to it. Thank you. As for my colleagues, we're still in a strictly formal relationship, but I'm working on it, for that I arranged a team dinner this weekend. Hopefully, they'll warm up to me and work efficiency will accelerate." I said sincerely.
I knew the whole building was aware of Robert's dislike of me. I'm sure the concern behind the boss's words was the same.
"Good. I find it convincing." He said with a nod. And then looked at me. "I called you here because of this." He handed me an envelope. I took it. An invitation.
"It's a seminar. At first, Mrs. Chalberth was to attend this with Mr. Lee but due to some personal conflict between the two, she refused the offer." He explained looking at me as he judged my expressions.
I gave him none. Sat there nodding at his words.
Mrs. Chalberth and Mr. Lee were both team leaders as well. Both excel in their jobs. Mrs. Chalberth is a bit snobbish but good at her work. The best amongst us girls here.
As for Mr. Lee, the people in the field say that he's a leader who trains future leaders. Every intern who came here wanted to work under him. He had a fair share of failure in his youth as well but for many years all of his projects were a success. He's one of the role models for youngsters like us.
"I want you to accompany Mr. Lee to this Seminar." Mr. Dior said.
"Ok, I will."
"There will be entrepreneurs from all across the world. Some big names will be there." He elaborated.
"I understand Sir," I gave him an assuring nod, indicating that I understood his hinting that there will be potential customers who we need to approach, some of our old clients will be there as well we need to make sure that they know we are still here to provide our services.
"Good, you may now go resume your work." He said dismissing me.
With a small 'good day' I stood up and went out with the envelope in my hand. In my office, I opened it to see the date. It's this Friday evening. Meaning tomorrow.

After work, I asked Tyler if he had some time to go shopping with me. I laughed at his horrified expression. But soon recovered from his shock and said he was free after work.
My brother went back home last Saturday, so I asked Eva, she had her daughter waiting for her at home, and she was more upset than me for being busy and not able to accompany me. And other girls, I was not very comfortable with, I did not bother asking. When I was thinking who to ask as I did not know anyone in this city, Tyler walked in like a savior with his work for the whole day and my schedule for tomorrow, adjusting his glasses over his nose.
Well, a woman cannot go shopping for a Ball dress alone. A seminar as they say requires fancy dresses.
After work I waited for Tyler in my car, yes a bought a new Audi A4 last Sunday. This baby is LOVE to drive around.
Soon we both went to a mall and the gowns and dresses shops one after another. I liked a few articles but Tyler was not satisfied saying, "they don't g-go with yo-our p-personality"
