NARRORATORS POV

the six teens made their way down the hill that led to the grassy area that stopped right before the lake. it was now around four o'clock, meaning the afternoon walk program had already passed.

also meaning the lake should be way less crowded.

which it was. much to their surprise, it was only them and some older couple who laid gently in the grass a couple feet away from them. the group of teens started undressing a shoving clothes into whoever's bag was the closets before applying their sunscreen and getting ready to go in.

just as they were about to head in, a voice from behind stopped them. "you know what would be totally cool?" gwen asked with that signature smile. "what?" ozzie groaned, just wanting to get out of the excruciating heat.

"we should jump off that cliff," she exclaimed, pointing up towards the giant ledge above them. that cliff ought to be about 40 feet tall, and carmen was not having it. "you're crazy. you're actually crazy if you think im going to j-"

-

the six friends now stood at the top of the ledge, looking down at the water below them. they're really doing this. "are we sure about this guys?" nikki asked. "i come from a famous family. brett farve would be really dissapoin-"

"do not." ozzie said sternly, interrupting her with a nasty glare. "this was gwens idea, so all in and all i think she should go first," carmen exclaimed, raising her hand. "what? no! i dont wanna go alone."

"ozzie will go with you," jay said, offering up the boy without his permission. "i will?" ozzie asked, turning around slowly.

"yes, you will" jay said with a smile before shoving them over the edge, causing them both to scream. "JAYSON LANCE KELSO!" ozzie exclaims from the free fall. "thats not even my name." jay shrugs. "i dont even have a middle name. and my first name is just jay," he says with fake offense.

CARMENS POV

"cool story, no one cares your turn!" nikki says before pushing jay. i was too caught up in my laughter to realize she had actually pushed me too. "NIKKI WHY," i screamed, not really sure if she could hear me or not. before i know it, i hit the water, feeling myself plunge beneath the surface. as i swim up, i turn around to see the kelso boy coming up too, shaking the water off his hair. "it was fun right?" gwen asks, coming up from behind me.

"no." i deadpan, "jays dad was right. it did feel like doing it with the water. shortly after we hear a big splash, turning around to see nate landing in the water and nikki walking back down the cliff.

"the bitch didnt jump." ozzie points out. "no she did not," i say simply before getting splashed by gwen, eventually turning into everyone splashing each other.

NARRORATERS POV

the six teens sat smug on the blankets around their hand-crafted fire (thanks to nates "wilderness survival" as he likes to call it.)

"i feel filthy." carmen said as she laid against jays chest, the support of his elbows holding him up. "you smell nice," he said, burying his face in her hair, loose curls starting to form due to being out of the water, and lack of her hair straightener. "and you look pretty too. its that after lake glow," the boy stated matter-of-factly. carmen just simply rolled her eyes.

shes used to the boys constant flirting. its part of what makes them so close. "jesus jay, not even for one day can you give it up!" gwen stated from across the blanket, where her and ozzie lay.

"i cant compliment my best friend!?" he exclaims, putting his hands up causing carmen to roll of off him and face first into the blanket. "ouch," she mumbled, face still against the ground. "im sorry," jay says lowly enough for her to hear before turning her onto her back and lifting her back to her previous position.
