After that day Mrs Khan has refused visits on claims that Amira is recovering.

A week later on a Friday they were in the mosque. Amira with the help of her mother sat down put aside her crutch. Put her hands together and prayed. When she opened her eyes to read the Quran , she noticed Deepika-Ranya and her baby and her previous mother in law Mrs Abdallah. She looked at them calmly as they tried to quiet the fussy baby. She looked away when she felt her mother's touch. She looked at her and smiled in reassurance and continued reading peacefully.

Everyone looked at her poise and elegance and suddenly they remembered. She was the best girl in her generation. She knew the laws of their religion and lived by them. Such a girl how could she divorce her husband just because he wants a second wife. Besides only Amir could divorce Amira. So they realised that there must be more that meets the eye. They looked at the new mother who was struggling with the child. Her nails painted a vulgar colour with long sharp nails that make the baby even more uncomfortable. They shook their heads. But then again who made their perfect girl marry early and is still barren.

After the service, Amira greeted everyone and went out. She met Amir who was standing at the door of the female section. She looked up and then down and said ",Can I pass Sir?". She asked. He moved aside too shocked to reply as she was very peaceful to him. She left as soon as he made way. He was frowning in thought when Deepika-Ranya came out and gave him the baby and said "This son of yours is too much trouble". Cleaning the vomit of her hijab".

He lost face, his face sank but for the sake of people not noticing he smiled indulgently at her and agreed to take the child.

Mrs Abdallah approached Mrs Khan who was chatting to widow Of Mr Sippy.  "How are you sister?". She asked.

It was in the mosque. Mrs Khan didn't want to be ugly so she nodded ",I am good blessed be Allah. I am going now. Sister Sippy I will deliver them soon to your house. Good bye for now." She smiled at both and turned and left. With poise and non-aggressive behaviour.

Mrs Abdallah looked down. Her eyes shrowed in a shadow. "Meera we have to go. " Old madam Abdallah said getting fed up with daughter in law's flattery of  Mrs Khan.

After that day everyone's impressions of Mrs Khan and her daughter was renewed. And all of them who had widowed sons wanted to introduce them to her as soon as she recovered.

In her home after a month of putting her foot up she felt better. It was her father's 60th birthday. And they decided to make a party.  And their family's came. Mrs Khans mother in law came with Mr Khan's siblings. She was a mean old lady who never liked her much.

"So aren't you getting this girl married? It's been a month? I hear the Abdallahs are having a month celebration for the baby.  As well as a marriage ceremony". She said.

Amira who was already smiling looked down. Her eyes chilly and cold. But when she remembered the vision she saw, a smile crossed her features. Everyone looked at her weird. She was insulted and yet she smiled.

Rohit got off his car and went straight for the men gathered in the pavilion round house outside. "Khan". He called. "Rohit!". He said standing up and hugged him. Rohit whispered ",How is Amira. Sorry I wasn't here in your darkest hour,".
Khan parted his back ",You are here now".he said smiling.

They smiled and greeted the other men. They ate and celebrated and enjoyed the day.
On Sunday,Mr Khan's sister who slept at their house as she lives far woke up and saw Amira cleaning the house. It was just after five thirty in the morning. "Where is your father?". She asked .

"Good morning Aunt. Father and mother went to take grandmother home". She said.

Aunt Anjana snorted an okay. She went to bath and prepare to pray. They prayed together.
