Mr Shabaaz's new wife

Chapter 4. Plans

Mr Shabaaz let his hand down , turning back to the window, vibrating in anger.  

Mrs Khan whispered standing up to Anjana ", Get out of my house". Her voice hoarse behind her veil. Anjana felt a shiver of fear. She stood up and took her bag while walking out at the door she said ", Don't punish all of the family daughters just because your daughter is barren. I am her biological aunt, I wont harm her. Mr Shabaaz is your friend and has no parents and has three sons. She will live in luxury and comfort, why are you seeing me as a sinner? I want to protect our family!", she roared.

"Anjana!", Mr Khan took a vase from the table and threw it towards her. She jumped and ran out in a hurry. Mr Khan shut the door in the face of curious neighbours. Anjana told them outside ", Don't worry , she will marry this old man no worries", she said. 

Some people agreed with her, some people disagreed. In any case neither situation was favourable for Amira.

In the house, with the noise outside cancelled they could hear Amira's sobs in the bathroom. He looked at Mr and Mrs Khan , guilt upon his face, he bowed and said ",I am very sorry. Please forgive me. I knew there were red flags in what Anjana said, and yet I was tricked by her. I am so sorry. If possible I want to send Amira to London to Vijay's place. So that she can start over." he said.

Mr Khan sighed ", I forgive you. Its not your fault-"

"You are right , its your fault for always indulging your sister and now she has ruined my daughter's life, further. No offense Brother Rohit". she argued with her husband.

Shabaaz raised his hands ", May the almighty help us. I want to help Amira without trapping her in another loveless marriage brother. Sending her overseas for a couple of years could help".

",Why don't you go away a couple of years? Maybe you might die there!", said Mrs Khan in an emotional voice. Mr Khan frowned ", Go and comfort Amira. You have no business here!", he  scolded.

She stood up and huffed to the bathroom.

Mr Khan apologised and offered Mr Shabaaz tea and invited him to sit down first. Rohit Shabaaz sighed and sat.

"Brother, throwing her overseas won't work. If she finds someone she likes and wants to marry and then they find out about this, she is doomed. Afterall no secret remains hidden forever. Its better if she marries in the light and later divorce if you so wish in the light. " Sighed Mr Khan.

Rohit stood up ", I will bring proper engagement procedures tomorrow. "

"Wait my friend. Let us sit for a while and lament the end of our friendship", said Mr Khan with red eyes.

Rohit Shabaaz nodded.

Meanwhile, Mrs Khan stood up her daughter who had gone cold in the bathroom. Put her  on the bench , took her clothes and dressed her simply and quickly and then came out of the bathroom through the passage where the two man could be seen seated leisurely. Her heart grew a bit sombre upon seeing her husband; Mr Khan so relaxed. Sensing her tense daughter she rushed her to her won room. She quickly put Amira on the bed, removed her face veil and covered her with blankets. 

"Don't worry, mom is here. You can cry now". she sighed. Patting Amira on the back. Facing away from her mother, Amira knew her destiny was written. She had to marry her uncle Rohit, her father's bestfriend.

Amira sniffled and then her whimpers turned to waterworks. Rohit who was drinking tea paused upon hearing the loud cry. He sighed , his eyes looking down. Khan looked at him and knew he was distressed. Afterall Rohit and his wife loved Amira a lot, like their won daughter especially since Rohit and his wife only had three sons. But his wife had been dead for over six years. And since then he looked after his children well alone. And now, he had to dishonour his  vow and marry again. Many man might be excited , but he knew his friend. He was anything but excited.
