"Drake! I know You're there, Drake! You and your friend!" Drake's heart raced. A shot was heard. "Kirk! No! You can't die, Kirk, please!" Drake said with sorrow and tears in his eyes. "You're next, Drake. Don't even try to run."
Drake awoke in his hospital bed with a jolt. His heart was beating rapidly. Looked at his scroll. It was 02:14. "I'm sorry, Kirk. I could have helped you. I could have saved you. God, Why did it have to be you and not me?" Drake put his face on his hand and started sobbing uncontrollably. These dreams were becoming way too real. They were becoming more frequent too.
"You had a nightmare about Kirk, didn't you?" Sylvia said softly as she slowly made her way into the room. "I could have stopped this from happening. I could have saved him. Why did he die and I live?" Drake said quietly. "Drake, you didn't have to do anything. It was either him or you." Sylvia tried to comfort him. "Well, it should have been me!" Drake said, a little louder than he wanted to. "How could you even say that?" Sylvia asked, now worried about him. "For my entire life I've been trying to support a cause that was doomed from the start. Every time I saw faunus being discriminated against, I was there. But the moment that a faunus, my best friend, faced a life threatening situation I couldn't save him. I was too slow. Too weak. It shouldn't be me here today. It should be him." Drake turned to the other side of the bed.
"Drake, I'm sorry about What happened to Kirk. He was your best friend, but you have to keep going. We Can still fight for faunus rights. For Kirk." Sylvia said as she hugged Drake. "Sure. For Kirk."
After a night of broken sleep and nightmares, Drake awoke with Weiss at his side. "Drake, are you okay? You were saying someone's name in your sleep. Who's Kirk?" Weiss asked with concern. "He's... He's No one. Don't worry about it." Drake told her. "Okay."
Sylvia walked through the door "What are you doing here? Don't you remember our little conversation? I thought I told you to stay away from my boyfriend." Weiss glared at her. "I'm afraid your boyfriend was mine first. Back off, you brat!" Sylvia snapped at Weiss. "Both of you calm down. Can't we just be civil?" Drake calmed them both down.
"Drake, we have a big problem. Weiss, Can me and Drake talk alone?" Sylvia asked. "You think I'm leaving you alone with him?" Weiss scoffed. "I said leave, little avalanche! Don't make me hurt you!" Sylvia warned. "We won't take long, Weiss." Drake told her. "Fine." Weiss said as she left.
"Drake, the White Fang knows where we are." Sylvia told him the news. "No. They can't! How could they know?" Drake questioned. "Someone within Beacon has been telling them. Someone in the school is part of the White Fang and we need to find out who." Sylvia said. "We don't have time for that. We need to get moving." Drake suggested. "You aren't going far with that injury. We need to wait for it to heal and while we're waiting we have time to find out who it is." Sylvia said. "Fine."
When there was No more lessons for the day, team JNPR decided to see How Drake was doing. "Drake! I can't believe Velvet did this to you!" Pyrrha said as she got into the room. "I know! We'll break her legs!" Nora Exclaimed, sounding happier than she wanted. "Don't worry about it, Nora. I'm not that hurt. Ah!" A sharp pain suddenly pierced into Drake's shoulder. "Are you sure You're Okay? You don't look it." Ren asked with concern. "I'm great. Never been better." Drake didn't like to show that he was in pain.
Sylvia burst though the door with several pieces of paper in her hands. "Drake, I've found several suspects. They could be- Oh. Hey, guys." She noticed the team of four gathered around Drake. "Uh, suspects? Are you guys going on a mission without us?" Nora asked. "Uh, No! There's No mission. There's also No suspects." Sylvia told her. She was never a good liar. "Come on, you Can tell us! It's not like we'll tell everyone in the school!" Nora said. "Nora..." Ren shot a look towards Nora. "Oh, come on. That was one time, Ren! Besides, if he didn't want everyone to know, then Why was his diary just out in the open?" Nora stated.
"Can you guys just let us talk alone please?" Drake asked. "I know What this is! You're trying to cheat on Weiss!" Nora accused. "No. Nora, I just want to talk to her. We're not gonna do anything." Drake told her. "Fine. But if I hear anything I'm telling Weiss." Nora said as she and the rest of team JNPR left the room.
"Okay, I have suspects. Suspect one: Velvet Scarlatina." She told him. "It can't be her." Drake said. "Suspect two: Blake Belladonna." Sylvia stated. "Can't be her. I could tell by her eyes She's a faunus, but isn't the type to be in the White Fang. "Okay. Suspect three: Sun Wukong." She said. "Can't he him." Drake said. "We could be finding out who it is for some time." Sylvia said. "We'll never find who it is in time." Drake said.
"Hm... This information could prove very useful to us. Thank you." A deep voice growled. A large array of documents as Well as a cup of coffee lay across his desk. "So, they have found each other after all this time. Good. Together they will be easier to Kill." The voice chuckled to himself.
