[2] The Daughter of Nurse Joy: Adventures in the Orange Islands

While on the way to Pummelo Island, Cora and the gang stopped on an island. As well as taking a break there, Cora saw this as an opportunity to train her Pokémon before the Orange League. Of course Cora knew what Pokémon the leader of the Orange League would use, so she decided to train her Pokémon and herself to get ready for it. But she wanted Chrystal to have a chance against Drake's Onix, so she'll trade Pokémon she needs when she gets to Pummelo Island. Prof. Oak had told her that Chrystal had been training with some of her water Pokémon and her three Lycanroc's. So she was excited to see how she was doing.

Cora and Alain had trained with her other Pokémon along with Mairin's a few hours later. In which Fleur (Floragato) evolved into Meowscarada, Neptune (Squirtle) into Wartortle, Emmett (Quaxwell) into Quaquaval and Drogo (Drakloak) into Dragapult . Alain's Litten into Torracat, Crocalor into Skeledirge, Pawmo into Pawmot and Alolan Rattata into Raticate. Mairin's Jasmine (Floragato) evolved into Meowscarada, Olivia (Dolliv) into Arboliva, Lottie (Bounsweet) into Steenee, Lulo (Fomantis) into Lurantis, Alice (Cutiefly) into Ribombee and Deren (Rowlet) into Dartrix. 

Then Cora decided to go on a jog with Kilala and Jackal. Alain decided to join them. Mairin was playing with her Pokémon at their campsite. As they jogged, Alain managed to come across a Slowking and decided to catch it, which he was successful.

Mid way during their jog, Jackal stopped in his steps.

"Jackal, what's wrong?" Cora asked.

"(I sensed something nearby.)" Jackal replied.

"Which direction?" Alain asked.

Jackal pointed towards the trees, "(That way.)"

"Let's go check it out." Cora decided.

"Espe? (Should we?)" Kilala asked.

"Well it could be an injured Pokémon." Cora suggested.

"Espeon. (Good point.)" Kilala nodded.

So the three followed Jackal into the trees. As they got closer, Cora felt like something was watching them. Soon enough they reached a clearing with a huge boulder in the middle but saw nothing else.

"(Odd, I was sure that I sensed something here.)" Jackal commented.

"Odd indeed." Cora agreed.

Suddenly, Kilala saw something flash right by them.

Kilala blinked, "Espe? (What was that?)"

Kilala's question was answered when a form appeared from the shadows of the tree line. It was a Pokémon, one that only existed in myths and legends.

"Marshadow." Cora whispered, shocked.

"Espe? Espeon? (Marshadow? Really?)" Kilala questioned.

"(I thought that Marshadow was only a myth.)" Jackal added.

"That's what most people think." Alain stated.

"Marshadow, is there a reason why you've been watching us?" Cora asked, calmly.

Marshadow stared at her, "(You're Ho-oh's Chosen, are you?)"

"Ho-Oh's Chosen? Yes, I believe I am. Why do you ask?" Cora questioned, unsure.

"(I wanted to meet Ho-oh's Chosen. I'm amazed that you were able to save the world from further destruction.)" Marshadow replied, "(Were you afraid?)"

"Truth be told, I was somewhat scared when I had to go to Ice Island. The reason why was because I saw the three Legendary Birds were fighting against one another. But I was able to go because all of my Pokémon and friends gave me the courage." Cora admitted.
