16th June
She woke up, her hair tangled and literally untamed after a six hour sleep. yes, her hair wasn't as pretty as those actors who woke up flawless.
or even singers too.
she got up, groaning and whining along the way to the bathroom. her pyjamas consisting of a tank top and some old sweats that didn't have any waistbands anymore.
what? she was saving money, she didn't need a different pair anyways.
after a quick shower, she found herself dressing up into her normal attire - a white shirt with rolled up sleeves and yesterday's pair of skinny jeans. she needed casual attire, she'll show them casual attire.
her hair was combed and she suffered the consequences once in a while when her hair got stuck in the comb, but this was her normal routine.
she was used to her hair being selfish anyways.
she grabbed her bag before running down the stairs - after the late realization that she had only 20 minutes to ride her way to work.
grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl, she ran over to the beautiful woman standing at the sink, and gave her a big kiss on the cheek.
"Dahlia, I'm late - I gotta run, see you later!"
she cycled her usual route, but taking a shortcut that was only used when she was in a hurry. this route wasn't as pretty as the long one, being the reason why she rarely uses the shortcut.
the library was already open, and her sweat was already slightly obvious on her forehead. she saw the familiar woman standing behind the counter, the woman that was also known as her boss.
"Hey Mrs. Fine, you're looking good today."
no, she wasn't trying to kiss her boss's ass or anything, she was actually flattering her boss who always seemed to overrule her fashion wise.
"Morning dear, well I've got a dinner date tonight, it's the 35th aniversarry with the hubby," Mrs. Fine was checking her hairdo in the mirror hidden behind the counter, "I've got to look good."
Allison gasped, "35 years? God, you're old."
both of them laughed, and Allison smiled at how happy Mrs. Fine was.
"So, any work for me today?"
Allison placed her bag on the shelf behind the counter, and looked at Mrs. Fine who was searching through the work duty list, finding something for Allison to do that morning.
"The fiction corner needs some updating, and I guess you could help out since it was messy yesterday. could you go check it out today please?"
"yeah sure, it wouldn't be a problem Mrs. Fine. it is my job."
Allison fixed her ponytail, and rolled her sleeves properly. she walked over to the fiction shelf, deciding to begin from the start. there were four shelves of fiction stuff, and she knew it couldn't be finished in a day.
but it wasn't Rome though.
okay that didn't make any sense.
she was starting to grab a book from the shelf - a benefit of working at the library was that she received access to books any time any day. it was a bonus - especially for a bookworm like her.
that was when she saw him.
the good looking guy that never seemed to have any interest in borrowing a book, or even taking a glimpse of any books in the freakin library.
she was weirded out at first, but slowly watched as he was more interested in the daily newspapers, and jotting stuff down in his battered journal.
she swore she had seen him drawing before though, not like she was stalking him or anything.
oh wait - she was.
he was attractive, and she wasn't denying it.
it just made her wonder a lot about him, and it made him seem very interesting somehow.
looking at the date that was digitally plastered at the wall above the grandfather's clock in the library, she slowly bit her lip.
it had been 23 days since he first showed up at the library.
23 days of watching every single thing he does.
bad update but A for effort.
