and a new update because I've already read three books on wattpad today. screw me.

the library was nothing special that day, there were people coming in and spending the day at the library, or even people who came to borrow books for assignments and other stuff.

newspaper headlines were being the usual type, overreacting and somehow pathetic.

well, that was his opinion anyways.

he looked around, only to find a girl watching him or maybe looking at something behind him - he wasn't really sure.

the girl was familiar, another face he had grown accustomed to see these past weeks. if only he noticed how frequent he was.

yeah right Harry. ha ha.

he looked away, and flipped his journal open. his journal was hideous and definitely old, but he prefers finishing the empty contents before starting a new one.

he was already close enough to a new one anyways.

he grabbed his favourite pen, but found the pen slipping away from his grasp when he heard her voice.

"hi."

he looked at her, and found himself breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath again. he was in shock really. she was standing at the shelves 5 seconds ago, how fast could she walk?

she was staring at him, and he watched as her eyes travelled from his mess of hair and how they lingered on his eyes. as much as he was distracted by her actions, he found himself looking back at the empty page below him.

"so whatcha doing?"

as much as he wanted to avoid her, he knew she wouldn't be leaving soon if he didn't reply. he wanted to write in his journal, so the faster she left - the better.

"nothing."

he didn't look up. he couldn't contain himself if he did.

"do you even read?"

this caught Harry by surprise. he wasn't sure if he was supposed to be thankful or offended. he decided to pick the latter - he was getting slightly annoyed anyways.

"yeah."

he knew she was annoyed with his one word responses, but he didn't care.

"prove it. gimme a title."

he looked at her, and a faint smirk was playing on her lips. she just wasn't giving up was she.

"the librarian who thinks she's young but she's not really young - at all, that guy who comes in every tuesday and barges to the erotic section and jerks off in the gardening section because nobody really goes there, the couple who meets up here during their lunch breaks and fcks in the toilet depending on which one looks much emptier, and you."

his gaze never left her blue eyes, and he knew she was slightly intimidated. she gulped.

"oh. you read people."

Harry clenched his teeth, and couldn't help but feel annoyed with her interruption.

"why are you even talking to me?"

he wasn't looking at her, but he knew she was nervous with the way her legs were shaking under the table.

"well you seemed lonely. 23 days and not a single book is quite weird,"

he looked at her. she counted the days as well.

"It's none of your business."

his tone was harsh, and he really wanted to scare her away. she had to be scared, she had to leave him alone.

"maybe I could help you pick a-"

"no."

"but-"

he had enough. he slammed his journal on the table and hissed.

"You're desperate and lonely. but I'm not one of you and I do not want to join you in your lonely group. go the hell away and find somebody else to play with. just leave me the fck alone."

his hands were fisting the newspaper that was previously folded next to him. it was the only thing that could be grabbed at the moment.

he looked away from her intense gaze, and thanked god for her getting up from the seat in front of her.

"oh okay. sorry."

he looked at her, and he swore he saw her eyes slightly watery. he mentally cursed before grabbing his pen.

he didn't need this, he couldn't do this.

he just wanted to be alone.

but after she left him at the table, he couldn't help but feel guilty.

he decided to vent in his journal before doing something irrational.
