Velma watching on her phone at school:

( reporters clamoring )

Reporter: Fred Jones being taken into police custody as a suspect for the grosume murder of Brett Bright, a local high schooler.

( all gasp )

Velma: ... It just goes to show, we all have secrets. Even the ones we least expect. It's weird though. Fred was a jock and although he acted differently at home it was just more introverted and less obnoxious. He didn't even try to stop me from leaving, he just wanted me out which, fair. I would want me out too.

Reporter: And finally only one lawyer has agreed to represent Fred Jones. (Velmas father) Aman Dinkley!

V (to herself): Even if you needed money to keep your pregnant girlfriend happy, why is he going as far as representing the Joneses. While I doubt Freds a brain stealing sociopath. Everyone knows to stay away from them.

Velma to N: Now, have you seen Daphne? Her parents are detectives, so I need her help to get my mom's cold case files.

N: You want me to come in in case you have another panic attack? Thanks. But after the police took in Fred, I feel like I'm finally through the worst of it.

( siren blaring )

Daphne's Mom: Sweetie, are you sure you don't want to take a mental health day? It's not often your boyfriend is arrested for removing one of your friends' brains.

D: Thank you. But he's innocent, I can get through it. I need to so I can show them that. ( sniffs )

V: Hey, Daphne.

D: What do you want?

V: Just to offer my sincerest condolences for your loss.

D: Stop! I know you think I'm a huge bitch who ditched you to be popular. Your only saying this to mess with me.

V: What? That's so not true!

D: Then what do you want?

V: Fine. ( Sighs ) I need a favor. I need you to get me my mom's cold case file.

D: Why would I do that?

V: I was hoping you'd get it for me for old time's sake.

D: You basically confessed and have well documented anger issues and panic attacks to me before. I don't think this is healthy.

V: Please Daphne?

D: *Looks at N then back to velma.*

D: Fine, but you better not do anything crazy.

We cut to Fred in a house monitored with police guarding from outside with his family sitting for dinner with Aman.

F: Where the hell are my pancakes?

( sighs ) Uh, what is this?

You forgot the toppings.

Freds dad: You're embarrassing yourself, Frederick. It's bad enough you still eat pancakes with whipcream and fruits like a little kid!

Yes, Father. Sorry... Sorry, Father. ( groans )

Freds Mom: Our apologies, Aman. Freddie is due in court this afternoon, and the case has everyone out of sorts.

Aman: No, this is actually perfect. See, I feel the only way to prove Fred's innocence is to play up that child-like side of him.

Freds Mom: It can't miss, right? Please say it can't miss. He can barely survive on the outside as is.

Freds dad thuds his fist on the table

Freds dad: Victoria, admitting he's still a little boy is worse than any crime. It's embarrassing. He is the future CEO of Jones Gentlemen's Accessories!

Freds mom: Is he, though?

( Fred looks down ashamed ) ( sighs )

Freds dad: ( sighs ) Well, try it your way. But if anything goes wrong, we have connections to ensure you never work in this town again!

Aman: Great.

Fred: (Inner voice) Crap. I'm all syrupy.
