Maehara Hatomi"Oi Hiroto," Hatomi called out. "Karma is returning today right?"
Days had passed ever since their new teacher came by. Hatomi was still having a hard time processing it all. An alien she was supposed to kill as her teacher? No way. It had to be a joke. The more days that went by, the more she was forced to realise that it was indeed not a joke. It was very much real, much to her dismay. It seemed that she was never going to wake up from this realistic dream. The hope that this was for some sort of a reality show slowly died as the days slipped by.
"I think so?" Hiroto shrugged, carrying his school bag and getting ready to leave the house. "Why do you want to know? You into delinquents now?"
"I just think that Akabane could be one of the best assassins in our class," Hatomi replied, her eyes narrowing at the side comment her idiotic twin had just made. "Didn't he get suspended for beating people up? I think he has a good chance, isn't he awfully smart too?"
Hiroto merely shrugged and left the door open for his sister, "I don't know much. Ask me about other girls and I will be able to reply. I am not all that interested in guys."
Hatomi wished she had a different brother right in that very moment, "You're lucky murder is illegal."
Hiroto laughed it off as he got ready to speed off on his bike, "Are you sure jail is the only thing stopping you from killing me?" It seemed as though he genuinely had a death wish and yearned for a torturous ending to his womanising life. Hatomi might just actually grant it. She wondered what would be Isogai's reaction to their new classmate returning this very day. Nobody had seen or heard from Karma throughout the entirety of his absence. Not even Yukimura-Sensei said anything regarding his return. It was like he wasn't even there. She wondered if Koro-Sensei knew of Karma's existence.
"Wait for me asshole," Hatomi called out as she too, got ready to leave the house, scrambling to put on her shoes. "Don't you even try and leave without me!"
He did not listen, and left his sister behind. Of course he would. He was indeed an asshole. How could he be related to her? She often wondered if Hiroto was swapped at birth. Sometimes she wished he was. It would have made a lot of sense. How was she related to someone like him?
"You can try and catch up to me!" Hiroto laughed as he began to cycle even faster than his usual speed. It almost looked like he was trying to challenge light to see who was faster.
The twins had agreed to once again meet up with Isogai before the trio headed off to school together. It was like their special little routine. They would never separate. Best friends since birth. Hatomi could not have asked for a better friend to grow up with. Isogai was amazing, unlike her rat of a twin brother. Hiroto was the one Isogai rode with, because it would be weird for a girl and a boy to ride on the same bike together, not that Hatomi would really mind anyway. Isogai was the only male aside from her family that she was comfortable with and he knew everything about her. Everything but her failed relationship. Hatomi still wasn't sure if she should let Isogai know. She knew that he had done something bad to Isogai. She feared his reaction, she knew that she had to tell him at some point but she had no idea which point.
