     "Mãe, i'm home! " Serafina called out as she entered her home through the front door. She could hear the faint commentary of a football match sounding from the television. She entered their living room to see her mother bundled up in a blanket, a compression wrap bandaged up her exposed right ankle that she had sprained a few days ago, watching a replay match on the TV.

"Is that the match between Brazil and Serbia? " Serafina asked as she plopped down on their couch beside her mother, resting her tired head on her shoulder. Her mother, Gloria, planted a soft kiss on her daughter's head and nodded.

"Sim. I fell asleep during that game so i thought i would catch up on it. Neymar got a nasty ankle injury. Sent off from the field right away. How was work today? I hate sitting around doing nothing at home. I know how busy the clinic could be. "

"It was alright mamãe. It was quite busy in the morning, a car crash and two of the passengers suffer from different fractures. Would need intense therapy straight away. Unfortunately the driver passed away on the spot. But other than that, there wasn't much commotion. I even had the time to visit the gym after work hours. I've missed it for a week straight." Serafina answered, cuddling up to her mother more. If you haven't already guessed it, Serafina, age 27 was a bit of a mama's girl. You would think a big girl of her age would have an apartment or home of her own but no, she chose to live with her mother in the cozy, two-storey house they have built for their own. And she wasn't ashamed of living with her mother. She had a steady income of her own, enough to support herself and live comfortably, it's just a matter of choice. And Gloria was pleased when she decided against moving out. She loved having her daughter with her. They would go to work together, do chores together and watch their favourite movies and franchises together in their free-time. They didn't have any close relatives in Paris and it could get quite lonely despite having a number of friends. Even after more than a decade of establishing themselves in the foreign country, nothing could match the vibrant life filled with music, chatters and laughter coming from their home in Santos. Brazil was never a quiet country, but their colony in Santos was always filled with different sounds of joy at all times of the year. They visit their hometown whenever they could take a vacation from their work, which wasn't frequent. Working in a private clinic, their work days were long and their holidays short. It was a blessing that they could find time on the weekends to spend time with their friends.

"I'll just pop upstairs and change my clothes and i will start dinner. " Serafina announced as she got up from the comfort of her mother's embrace. And walked out of the living room.

"I've already cooked everything, querida! Just go and change i'll warm up the foods!" Her mother called out to her.

"Mamãe, i do hope you are not exerting too much pressure on your ankle!" Serafina's disgruntled voice vibrated from upstairs. They always say that doctors are the worst patients and her mother was the perfect example of one. She was never the person to sit down quietly, always bustling around in search of chores to do, things to clean and this and that.

"I sprained my ankle pup, not break it into half! "

     It was already 11:00pm when Serafina finally got into her bed. She could feel the stiffness from her body melting away from her body as the warmth of her bed engulfed her after a long day. She loved her work but it could be extremely tiring sometimes. She laid on her side with her phone on her hand, connected to the charging wire. She was talking to her best friend, Alexandre Lee, who was having quite an eventful day at work.
