It was around 2:50 when her last patient finally left her office. She got up from her seat and arranged her files to submit it to her mother. Gloria had taken the responsibility of the chief medical officer after her friend, the co-founder of the clinic passed away. She wasn't a regular practicing doctor as she was busy supervising the running of the clinic. There were three other physical therapists apart from her and each with their own assistants and a total of 5 nurses. Their clinic was a small one but it could get rather hectic considering the the size and number of employees. Today was one of the rare days that she got a free afternoon. Serafina walked into the changing room connected to her office and took off her scrubs and put on her clothes.

After she finished, she put her scrubs into the laundry basket provided and walked out. She quickly collected the files and called her assistant, Gaston Aubert and instructed him to arrange progress reports on their latest patients. Gaston curiously looked at her, it was uncommon to see her out of her scrubs as early as 3 in the afternoon. Other days, she would stay over to look into reports and take on patients when the other therapists were busy. He was curious as to why she was leaving so early today.

"Doc, you've got something to do today? You're leaving earlier than normal." He observed and he eyed her up and down. Serafina knew that Gaston had developed a small crush on her, it was clear how he was overly interested in her private life, sometimes unprofessionally so that it would annoy her. She knew that she could petition to switch assistants anytime but that would just instigate unnecessary tension and besides, he was rather good at his job. So, she preferred acting like she knew nothing of his infatuation even after turning down his invitation to "hang out" numerous times.

"Oui, i've got some things to do." She answered briefly before leaving after waving a quick goodbye. She felt him staring after her as she walked away but brushed it off. She was used to it. She went up the stairs where her mother's office was, and greeted the secretary brightly. She asked if her mother was occupied and after getting a clear from the secretary, we waltz into the office.

Gloria's office was the largest office in the clinic. It even had a small sitting area where she would conduct meetings with officials. Serafina observed her mother who was rubbing her face with frustrarion before finally speaking up.

"Estás a ter alguns problemas, doutor?" [Having some troubles, doctor?] She approached her mother who looked up after hearing her daughter's voice. Serafina placed the files in front of her but didn't take time to sit down. Her mother took a look at the files and nodded with satisfaction before smiling at her daughter.

"You are all ready to leave?" She inquired. She was excessively happy when Serafina told her about the plans she made with Neymar and kept teasing her about finally finding a date even though her daughter insisted that there was no date going on. Gloria liked to stay unconvinced because she had seen the way Neymar looked at her that night in the Santos year-end party.

"Sim mãe. Neymar is picking me up soon." She told her and before Gloria could tease her about it, she quickly shut her down with a warning look.

"Oh fine- i won't say anything. Call me if you are going to come home late alright?" She reminded her. "Have fun but not too much fun."

Serafina rolled her eyes at her mother's implications before saying her goodbyes and left the office. As she was walking down the stairs she met the senior doctor and briefly greeted her and continue on her path. Her phone rang and it was Neymar. She picked it up and quickly told him that she was on her way.

She was almost out of the building when she heard someone calling her name. It was Gaston. He quickly ran up to her and gave her some files.

"You forgot to take them with you." He told her, slightly out of breath after running to catch up with her. Serafina looked at him strangely, she wasn't aware of any important documents she had to have with her. She looked inside and quickly scanned down the papers.
