Paris, France
Serafina flopped down on her bed. Her suitcase was left unpacked at the bottom of her bed but she couldn't muster up the energy to get up and take out her clothes. Her mother and she were finally back home in Paris, she already missed the sunny Brazil and her home where they would heartily eat meals together and hold silly arguments that resolved into fits of laughter at the end. She missed their neighbours coming in and out of their home to present them their leftover desserts from the festive. It was a huge contrast to the freezing weather of Paris. Santos was warm, welcoming and it was home for her while Paris was still a foreign country even after a decade of settling down and building themselves an empire of their own. She didn't think she could ever consider the country a real home. But on the bright side, she would finally be united with her best friend and the terror who was her brother. She had missed them during her trip home.
She sighed to herself and snuggled into her pillow taking in the scent of clean cotton. She opened her eyes to see the setting sun from her window. She groaned softly before lazily getting up from her bed. Her phone pinged and her screen lighted up to the notification. She glanced at it and to her surprise, it was Neymar. Yes, they had been texting now and then after exchanging phone numbers at the beach. She smiled slightly at her phone but didn't answer right away. That could wait. First she would go to shower and take a bath, she hadn't got the time to do so in the morning since they had to catch an early flight. She was only grateful that the clinic would still be closed the next day.
She jumped into the shower and let the warm water spray over her body. She squeezed out a generous portion of her jasmine scented body wash on her loofah and went on with her bathing routine. After 30 minutes, she finally stopped the running water and hopped out of her showering cabin and wrapped herself with a robe. She walked out and dressed herself, took extra time to comb out her hair while it was still damped and decided she was too lazy to use a hair dryer.
After throwing her bathrobe in the laundry, she went downstairs.
"Mãe!" She called her mother when she didn't find her in the kitchen and she heard her mom answering from her room which was the one near the kitchen. Her mother had taken the master bedroom downstairs while she got the one upstairs. "Deveríamos apenas encomendar para levar para fora?" [Should we just order for take out?] She asked her again.
Her mother came out of her room and they settled to order for some Chinese takeout. Serafina whipped her phone up from the kitchen island and noticed that Neymar's message was still left unopened. She quickly ordered their dinner from their favourite Chinese restaurant nearby and opened her message app.
