Lisa's Pov

After the three hour plane ride back to my home in Bangkok, Thailand, I was just about ready to pass out and not wake up for a year.

Not only was I dead tired, but the fear of having to face my parents was a constant icy fist around my heart that kept on squeezing until I was nearly to the point of hyperventilation.

I clutched Taehyung ’s arm and gave it a rough squeeze, I tried to speak to him but I couldn’t form words. I was gulping in air, but even then I felt like my lungs weren’t getting enough of it.

But even before I could say anything, Taehyung was already dragging me away towards the restrooms. He took me inside the ladies room.

I vaguely remember hearing a few angry protests, but then Taehyung was speaking to them in a hushed voice and soon, the washroom emptied out and he helped me up on the counter and started rubbing his hands on my back in a circular motion.

“That’s it, slow breaths,” Taehyung whispered in my ear as I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, burying my face in the crook of his neck. Somehow, the familiar smell of his skin felt comforting. “Good girl, that’s it. Keep taking slow breaths. You’re doing good. Everything’s gonna be alright.”

I don’t know how long I’d been sitting on the counter in his embrace, but when I finally got my breathing back under control, Taehyung was still drawing circles on my back. I gave a light tug and he instantly let me go,  and I moved back from his embrace.

“How bad do I look?” I asked him when I saw the mascara stains on his jacket. “I’m sorry, I ruined your jacket.”

“Nah, its fine.” Tae gave me a small smile, his eyes turning a shade darker than their usual color. “Wait a second.”

I sat still on the counter as Tae walked over to the tissue machine and took out a bunch of them and brought them over to me. He then wet the tissues and holding my hair back from my face, dabbed the wet tissues all over my face, wiping off all the makeup with it. I wanted to reapply the makeup but one look from Tae and I was forced to rethink my actions.

That’s another side of Tae that I hadn’t always liked. He was the easiest person to talk to, I could literally share everything with him, but then he’d sometimes give me these looks that made me feel like I was being a rebellious child for no reason and I’d get all grumpy. Previously, when we were dating, Tae would bring me pink lilies along with chocolate kisses and kneel on the floor while giving them to me. It was the sweetest gesture he’d make and I’d melt instantly. He had no idea how much I’d missed those sweet little gestures over the course of the three years that I haven’t seen or heard from him.

Tae threw the used tissues into the trash and used his handkerchief to wipe my face dry. “There! Much better. How are you feeling?”

“Like I’ve been hit by an eighteen wheeler.” I groaned and wiped at my eyes with both my hands. “Can we just stay here for the rest of our lives?”

“I think the airport security might have a problem with that.” I could hear the smile in his voice.

It was also then that I realized that I had said ‘we’ instead of ‘I’. But I’d already said what I’d said and there were no taking back words once they were out of the mouth.

“Lisa,” Tae touched my shoulders and gave them a light squeeze. “They’re your parents; they will always love you, no matter what happens.”

“But-“

“No buts.” He gave me a stern look. “Chittip and Marco have been worried sick about you. I can assure you that they are anything but angry right now…well; maybe Marco’s a little mad at your baby daddy and might possibly want to kill her…but…you know…”

I smiled despite myself and punched Tae lightly on the shoulder. “Stop! It’s not funny!”

“No, it definitely is. But you want to know what’s not funny?” He asked. “The fact that we’ve been here for nearly half an hour and the security just might break in at any time and arrest me.”

I blinked and looked around; remembering for the first time that we were actually in the ladies room and Tae was in here with me. “Oh my God Let’s go!” I exclaimed. “We need to get our luggage as well.”

“Come on then,” Tae said. He then put his arms around my waist and lifted me off the counter and placed me safely on the ground. “Damn! Are you sure you’re pregnant? Your waist feels a lot thinner than before.”

And that was when another thought hit me. “Taehyung! My baby!”

My hands instinctively went to my stomach and I clutched it for dear life, afraid that I might have done some serious damage to the baby.

“It’s gonna be alright, Lisa, the baby is fine.” Tae placed his hand on top of mine and rubbed them soothingly. “Your baby’s probably a bit scared right now, but it’s strong, just like its mom. I’m sure it’s going to be alright.”

I looked up at Tae sharply and in that moment I knew that he’d remembered about the baby while I was having a panic attack. And that was why he’d gotten me alone in here to calm me down, even risking getting arrested himself. “Thank you.”I whispered.

Tae gave me one of those looks again. “Anything.” Was all he said as he took my hand and pulled me out of the ladies room.

Outside, however, was a different story.

There was a huge queue right outside the door and everyone heaved a sigh of relief as soon as we came out and then rushed inside as we moved out of the way. All but two women remained behind, smiling at Tae.

One of them was a tall blonde woman in a grey pantsuit and another was an African-American with dark caramel skin and black corkscrew curls and she was wearing a teal colored short dress.
“Thank you for holding the fort, ladies.” Tae gave a small bow and smiled widely at the women.

“Oh, no worries!” The dark skinned women spoke. “I’m just glad your girl’s doing alright.”

“Take good care of her.” The blonde woman smiled and then both of them went their separate ways.

“Take care!” Tae called after them and turned to me as his smile disappeared. “What?”

“What did you tell them, Taehyung?” I glared at him.

“Well, you were having a panic attack and the only safe place I could take you to seemed to be the women’s washroom so I took you there. But when those women asked what was wrong, I told them my girlfriend was having a panic attack and that she was pregnant and needed help.” He explained. “I think it would’ve been a little difficult to explain our entire back-story to them at that point.”

I sighed and rubbed at my temples. “I understand. Let’s get our luggage and go home.”

Once again, I didn’t realize what I had said until I’d already said it. I looked up at Tae to see that he was smiling down at me gently, some of his dark hair falling onto his forehead, making him look like the younger version of himself, the boy I’d fallen in love with. He gave my shoulders a little squeeze as he wrapped his arm around me.

“Let’s go home.” He said.

But little did we know, that a storm was just waiting around the horizon, ready to spread it’s destructive claws all over our lives and blow everything away in its wake.
