The Next Step

"Now that problem is solved, we should bring her to the dorm so that she can get some rest. It's probably been a long day for her, and she must be tired."

"Great meeting, everyone! I'm glad we could come to an agreement. I hope to see her again soon, inside the school!" Says the banana hair man. I smile at him.

"Thank you for voting for me and putting your trust in me! I promise I'll try to work hard!" I say, emphasizing the word 'try' slightly.

After everyone leaves, the mouse..? starts to lead me to the dorms. It turns out that I was already in the school, but none of the students were here because it was Saturday. 

"Apologies for not introducing myself earlier! Although my appearance makes me seem like a dog, mouse, or a bear, the most important thing is I'm your principal! You may call me Principal Nezu." (this is very out of character, I have no clue how this guy talks, I'm sorry)

"Okay! You can just call me Koru. So when will I get to start school?" I say, getting straight to the point. I'm so excited! I've never went to an actual school before!

"You'll have to pass the exam that we have planned for you first. After that, you'll get to go to  school! We might have to catch you up on some of the assignments that were done.. but that all depends on how smart you are." (please bear with me and this very bad representation of Nezu) "I hope you don't mind me asking, but your original name is Kotaru Suziki in your files? Why didn't you introduce yourself as your full name?"

"Oh. I don't like associating myself with my past family. I'd rather put that all behind me. I guess I just don't like thinking about it." I mutter. I laugh afterwards to loosen up the tension.

We walk into a large building, making some more small talk. Luckily, Principal Nezu seems to understand that I'm not ready to talk about the past yet. Although I'm sure I'll be interrogated sooner or later..

He leads me to a room, and stops.

"This is where you'll be staying! You'll have your basic needs like a bed, blanket, pillow, and a desk with a chair. The first floor is the common room, where you will find the bathrooms, kitchen, laundry rooms. There is also a television and couches downstairs. 

I nod, smiling. This place is so nice, it's almost like a mansion! There's so many rooms as well, and Mr. Nezu says that I can choose which one I want too!

"Because you were late to the entrance exam, we decided that we would get our very own teacher to go against you in a mock fight. Of course, we'll go easy on you, but don't expect us to not fight back! We'll talk to you about the more basic details tomorrow."

"Alright! I'll look forward to it!" 

Principal Nezu walks out and I happily skip to the washroom to take a shower. I rarely got to take a shower when I ran away from home. The trafficker dude i stayed with said it was a waste of water and would lick my arms and feet whenever I asked to shower. It was.. weird. It's also why I stopped asking for anything from him. But now, I got to take showers whenever I wanted! I'm so happy!

As I enter the washroom, I see a pair of shorts and a t-shirt on the edge of the sink. There's also a note on top that says " None of the guys in the meeting know how to dress, so I brought you a pair of clothes to wear for the night! Sleep well <3". The pretty woman with blue hair gave me clothes! I love her!

I hopped into the shower and made sure to scrub every inch of my body, trying to finally make sure that I was clean. I felt disgusted by the man that I used to stay with. I can't believe that I actually used to love him. He's so.. gross.

After lots of aggressive scrubbing and crying, I finally get out. There's already a towel hanging on the hook on the wall. I'm starting to think this dorm is a hotel lowkey. 

I dry myself off and wear the clothes the pretty woman gave me. Her bra didn't fit though..

I decide to grab the bra i was wearing before and wear that instead. I stole it from the store yesterday, so it should be fine. 

I finished dressing myself and went to a random room, not really caring. I was pretty tired. 

I make sure the window is closed and locked, shut the curtains, and hop into bed. I hope I can go to school soon.
