chapter 48

Nitara

"Papa can you pass me that sheet?" I point towards the paper lying on his right.

He smiles and hands it over to it.

It's been exactly 5 days ,now that I've been engaged. Nico is becoming so clingy these days. Luca and Leo are also now fiances. The best part was when both of them took out rings at the same time and we were all in shock.

Luca surprised us all by proposing Leo. Aww they're so cute. I'll cry. :-)

I was now packing a bouquet for Nico. He has overworked himself so much that he forgets to eat. The past two days of his have only passed in taking care of the mafia and forming alliances.

Amara had also left yesterday. We all cried so much, including Dante . He just doesn't admit it. She had to go because she had a mission coming up and her dad didn't sound too happy about her time here.

I tried asking her if everything was fine but she shrugged it off almost immediately.

"You sure you'll be okay by yourself mija?" Papa asks and I nod immediately.

"Yes papa , I'll be fine" I assure him and he pats my head.

"Take care ,sì and keep your phone turned on at all times ." I hug him goodbye and get into the car , driving towards his office.

I play my favorite Lana del Rey's playlist as I blast music in the car.
I even packed a bag with my softie penguin in it and a blanket as I plan on sleeping there.hehe

Soon enough I reach his office and my sure to lock the car. Mr. Gio opens the door for me and I smile at him .

I make my way towards his floor and everyone looks at me with apologetic eyes. His receptionist gulps when she sees me. His floor dead silent.

"Is Eve-everything okay h-here ma'am?" I ask her and she shakes her head , motioning me to come closer.

"Boss is angry" 3 words that make me rethink my decision of coming here. I tuck the bouquet into the bag carefully ,not wanting to damage the flowers and make my way towards his office with my shaky legs.

I'm not scared. I'm worried. Is he okay? Did he eat? What if he is crying? Aww no.

I enter without knocking and am met with a totally trashed office. His files are all over the place. He stands by the window, looking outside.

"Learn to knock tara" he says in a deep threatening voice and I gulp.

"A-are you okay babycakes?" I ask moving closer.

"Leave" one word and I frown. Nico never speaks to me this way. I hate it but haha jokes on him I'm not leaving him in this situation.

"Babycakes listen t-to me . This i-is what's g-gonna happen. I'll s-sit on the couch and you'll sit next t-to me and we talk. Communication remember?" I recall his own words and he grumbles something under his breath.

I sit of the sofa comfortably and pull covers of the cozy blanket I bought with me . I take out my fluffy and snuggle into it. I don't take out the bouquet right now as it's not the best time to give it to him.

"Okay n-no problem if you don't want to join . I'll give kisses and cuddles to mr. Penguie" I say smugly and look at him with side eye.

I catch him stealing glances and I quickly alter my gaze snuggling into the fluffy and giggling softly.

Hehe he can't resist me .

He grunts and exactly after 5 minutes 23 seconds, he snatches the covers and pulls me into his lap. I straddle him and go back to covering the blanket on us making sure to cover his arms .

He grumbles something and throws Mr. Penguie somewhere behind the couch. I gasp and narrow my eyes my him. He doesn't seem to mind and wraps his arms around me .

"Hey babycakes" I greet him with a peck and his lips curve upwards.

"Hello Mrs. de'angelo" he says smirking and I blush.

"Care to tell m-me what got y-you into this mood?" He sighs and lays his head on my boobies as I play with his hair.

"I lost one of the most wanted enemies of mine today just because of a fucking car infront of me . He was on my top list" he tells me snuggling more into me .

"Aww, it's okay babycakes. I got up something. Wait for a second" I try to climb off his lap and he resists pulling me more into him and snuggling into my chest.

"Nico just a minute. I promise it won't be long" he sighs and lets me go anyway.

I reach out for my bag making sure to place Mr. Penguie who was laying on the floor , nicely back in the bag . I then take out the bouquet and go back to him.

"Close your eyes please?" I ask and he shuts them immediately. I giggle and think of tickling his nose with it.

"Open it" I say and get on my knee infront of him.

I open the ring box and place it infront of him.  

"Marry me babycakes? Or I'll ugly cry" I warn him and let out a squeak when he pulls me up and spins me around.

"The prettiest baby in the world. Such a perfect Little baby. Yes I'll marry you Mia vita" he pecks my forehead and I slide the ring into his finger.

"I love you so much. You're my only one. l'unico" he Whispers and I smile at him.

My phone starts to ring and I break the hug walking towards it.

I usually don't get calls except from papa or nico. All the others prefer texting. The only  number I get most of the calls are from spam .

I frown as I see it's a unknown number. I pick it up anyway and the voice on the other side of the phone makes my whole body freeze.

"I'm coming for you babygirl"
