This is the last chapter. Read and enjoy. XoXo💋

Chioma got home that day and went to shower immediately. She found out from Bisi that Linus had arrived that evening but he went out few minutes after. She went into Blossom’s room and found her reading one of the story book Linus got for her.

Now she knew Damian was in fact Blossom’s father, it suddenly made thinking of Linus as Blossom’s dad as weird.

“Big madam what book are you reading today" she sounds down but tries hard to feign a happy tone

“Mummy good evening, Daddy asked of you when he came back this evening” Blossom says happily

“Oh he did? Did he come to you this evening?" Chioma asks

“Yes I told him I wanted more books and he said he’ll get them for me on his next trip"

“That’s good. How far along have you gone with this book" Chioma asks

“Oh I’m two chapters until the end of the book. Ehen Mummy we don’t do our weekly book club again, you missed last week’s”

“My dear I’m so busy, we will resume soon".

Chioma stops talking for a while as she watches as blossom say out each syllable before she finally gets the full word when it gets difficult for her. The teacher is really doing a good Job.

“Blossom, would you like to stay with Grandma for sometime?”

“Why Mummy?” Blossom asks

“Or is it because you and Dad aren’t speaking to each other?” She asks

“Noooo, who told you that?” Chioma asks surprised

“Dad raised his voice, you left the house and since then I’ve not seen you guys together"

“Don’t worry my love, we are on speaking terms now, didn’t he ask of me? We talked while you were in school. So would you like to see Grandma? She misses you and wants to see you" Chioma says.

“Okay mummy" Blossom smiles. Chioma leans forward and gives her a kiss on her forehead as she walks to her room to make a call.

“Hello Nne, this one you called, Aru odikwa?" Chioma’s mum says from the other end of the line

“Ahh mummy, you’re talking like I don’t call at all. How are you?” Chioma asks

“I’m fine o, your dad is still getting better after the stroke. He’s regaining feelings on most of the part that got paralysed"

“Thank God o. How is business? Have you finally stopped going to the supermarket, you have to stop o, you’re already old”

“Which old? Biko leave that thing, how old are you that you’re calling me old? I birth you when I was 28, so what are you saying. I’m still very strongl" Chioma’s mum chuckled

“Okay o. Sweet sixteen" Chioma laughed. For some reason talking to her mum calmed her. In as much as her mum was more traditional and different from her. She had always felt comfortable the most around her mum. She really wanted to confide in someone from her side of the family. She was thinking Uche before, but right now she thinks her mum would understand better. Besides she was planning to send Blossom over to her. She has to know what is going on.

“You called for a reason  you don’t call this late, what is the time sef? Almost seven, to ask me how I am, after all you’ve been less busy the whole day"

“Mummy I truly do not know where to start. But it is very serious. I want to bring Blossom over to your place in Onitsha to stay with you for a while"
