Rope
You meet someone and it starts off great,
Time goes by and the wind starts to change.
You start to see the signs you were blind to,
And try to fix it but they never try too.
The more you push,
The more you fail,
All because it's a two-way effort.
This person you love starts to change,
Breaks promises like they were never that great.
The trust starts to crack,
And your heart starts to break.
But you have hope and try to keep going,
No matter the pain you both endured.
You try to hold onto the rope but all you have are burns,
Burns from pulling too hard or not hard enough,
And all you start to feel is pain with almost nothing to gain.
You feel the love that was once there but not like it happened,
You feel it as though it were a disguised hurt, only meant to dig deep and strain.
You let go of the rope and soon you see,
All the weight lifted off your body,
And you feel free.~ Blanca Villanueva Proa

PoetryThis poem is about what I've been going through a little bit with love recently and hopefully it can reach some of you as I make more deeper ones.
