Kat didn't really remember most of class...
She was too busy buzzing impatiently, waiting for the final bell.

Ace and Deuce had shown back up at some point, sitting next to her, but she was too preoccupied to really pay them much attention.

All the information from the lessons had completely flown over her head... She felt a little guilty about that, but internally swore to make up for it as soon as she could.

Finally- after what felt like forever- the last bell rang.

Jumping up from her seat, Kat scrabbled everything back into her schoolbag. "Sorry- I gotta go," she apologized. "You guys can-- go down to lunch or whatever without me..."

"Uh.. Yeah, sure," Deuce agreed, looking a little baffled as she scooped up Grim, letting him clamber up to her shoulder. "But-- is everything okay?"

"Yeah, you've been totally out of it all day," Ace agreed, leaning against Deuce's shoulder.
"Feeling okay, Pre-K?"

"I'm FINE," she assured them, waving a hand as she adjusted her jacket. "Me and Grim just gotta-- go deal with some stuff... Right, Grim?"

"Yeah!" Grim agreed, nodding.
"This's great detective stuff-- nothin' for YOU two to worry about!"

"Wh- HEY!" Ace protested. "Hang on-- you saying we aren't detective material?! And is this about the Magishift--"

By that point, though, Kat was already skidding out the classroom door, running back down to the front hallway.

Riddle and Cater were already waiting at the bottom of the wide flight of stairs.

Kat came to a halt, bending over and putting her hands on her knees.

"Phew- okay," she managed after a few breaths. "Sorry- I-- came as fast as I could..."

"Don't worry, Kat," Riddle assured her. "You're right on time... Now- Cater. Which class was Ruggie Bucchi in, did you say?"

"2B!" Cater said, checking his phone at lightning speed and tucking it back into his pocket.

"Excellent," Riddle said, the beginnings of a dangerous expression starting to descend over his face. "We haven't a moment to lose... Come on!"

With that, he started ascending the stairs at a run, with Cater doing the same.
Grim jumped down off her shoulder, practically leaping every other step, and Kat followed.

Luckily, the halls were still pretty bare of students.

She'd really hustled to beat most of the lunch crowd-- she was a little proud of that, actually.

What students there WERE definitely made way once they spotted the hurrying housewarden and his entourage...
Even though Riddle definitely wasn't 'in the lead', she couldn't help but notice.

"Right," Cater panted as the little group sped around a corner, hurrying up the corridor.
"2-B's classroom is up ahead-- right over there!"
He nodded towards the open door of a classroom on the left side of the hallway.

Grim, skittering along in front of them, put on a burst of speed, making a beeline for the door.
"HEY!" Kat heard him yell as he dashed into the classroom. "Alright, you guys-- where's Ruggie Bucchi?!"
