19th June 1999
Betty was very excited for the wedding. She had waited for this day for a while. She was going to be a bridesmaid for her uncle's wedding. Her uncle and Sophie had a longer courtship than her father and mother so it was hoped that their marriage would last longer.
So many people had turned up to see the wedding of the Queen's youngest son and this made her wonder how her own wedding would be.
"This could be us one day," Harry told Betty. He admired how beautiful his little 10 year old sister looked in her dress.
"Come along Betty," Betty was ushered along with the other bridesmaids: Camilla Hadden and Olivia Taylor to do their jobs.
It was hard to believe how so much time has passed since Diana's death. Betty liked Sophie as she was always there for her since the death of her mother and was honoured to know that she would be a bridesmaid at her wedding.
As Sophie got out of the rolls royce, she was at Sophie's side a big bright smile was on her face as she was ready to help her future aunt in law get married.
It would be the first time since her mother's death, that everyone even Harry who would usually have a scowl painted on his face was smiling.
Even though Edward had wanted a private family wedding it was impossible now that the whole world looked on in earnest that Edward and Sophie would have a successful marriage unlike his 3 older siblings.
She hoped that she and her brothers would have successful and happy marriages unlike her father and mother.
The music started and as Sophie began to walk, Betty could feel the cameras watching her every move.
Charles looked on at his youngest and only daughter in awe and admiration. She looked stunning in her dress, the flowers greatly were a great addition. He thought a lot about her future but no matter what she choose to do in her life, the only thing Charles wanted was for his daughter to be happy.
All attention was on Sophie as she walked down the aisle. The Queen had pride swelling in her heart as she saw her son happily getting married.
Maybe they can do it.
