if only I knew that it only takes one friend,
to listen to your rants that never end.
if only I knew that it only takes that safe
space,
and your secrets spill like horses with no
reigns.if only I knew that I only needed that
reliable shoulder,
to be able to lift this thing weighing my
chest down—a heavy boulder.
if only I knew that I only needed that kind
ear and warm arms,
so I'd feel welcome and heard, I would've
gotten to know you sooner.if only I knew...
I wouldn't have searched the world,
collected acquaintances, and instead,
would've went straight to you few.
Thank you.
You allow me to heal, face my past issues,
and help me a lot without even knowing
it; I really appreciate you.
