(Picture above is what I thought fit in what Nevaeh should have looked back in college)
"There are a million upon millions of books in life. Books are a gate to something more than what you can imagine. But there is a legend that says that what happens in every book is real and that they tell someone's life. If you stumble upon a book that tells a story that feels too real and isn't based on true to life, don't ignore it. Especially if it's about you." She told me and then walked away.

"Second place goes to Nevie Rivera which means The Overall Winner of the Innovator's Revolution Competition is Aciel Ives Madden!"
The both of us locked eyes at each other. His orbs held a glint of mischievousness and happiness while he displayed a cute and cheeky smile. I narrowed my eyes at him but eventually laughed, we each acknowledged each other's excellence.
'I must admit, I lost.'
..
I trudged my feet through the cold pavement in great stupor. The sound of the brisk clinking of the hanging keychains from my bag, the clops of my heels on the clear floor, and the rubbing of the fabric on my legs were all I could hear as I made a beeline to the sweet seat of victory. The satisfaction of sitting down seemed heavenly at this point.
"Nevie, over here!" My friend, Kyrie waved from her seat.
I approached her and placed my bag down before slumping on the couch and resting my head on the table. A breath escaped my mouth as I sank in. Thank the Lord for comfy couches.
"I'm damn tired. I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in..I've lost count." I sighed. The clear dark circle that sat below my eyes wasn't hiding from anybody.
"At least you won the contest, right?" She then bit on the crispy chip. I glance down at the bag and grabbed one myself. Plopping it in my mouth. The saltiness just melted in my tongue, this is what I needed. Junk food~
"Women's category, yes. Overall, second." I pointed using the chip.
"Ives got another one on you again?" She laughed.
"Yeah, there's nothing beating that annoying yet cute guy." I chuckled, thinking of the focused expression on Aciel's face.
His rare sky-blue eyes filled with determination, the waves in between his eyebrows as he knitted them, and his red cherry-like luscious lips pursed together were quite a sight to see but the smirk on his face, as we locked eyes with one another, made me want to squeeze his cheeks until he cried.
I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to gather some more energy for my next class. My mantra 'Money buys happiness' was on repeat in my head. Though this whole process may be draining, it's fulfilling at the same time.
"When are you planning on dyeing your hair back to your natural color?" She asked randomly. Kyrie tends to ask the most random and spontaneous questions.
One time she asked me 'what if Spiderman stuck to the ceiling as he shat' a question I didn't know the answer to. Nor did I want to know.
"Natural color? I don't know what you mean, what natural color?" I jokingly denied it while raking my hair. More like an attempt since the dryness of the dye had stopped it from brushing smoothly. I looked as if I had combed a steel wool sponge through my hair instead.
" *sigh* You know, rosy blonde? I mean your red hair really suits you but I feel like since you kept dyeing it over and over for the past few years, it's the main reason why your hair's so damaged." She did make a point. I've been contemplating it for a while.
