Carinas POV
"Maya, please. I just need you to take a bite." I say holding the spoon to her lips and she stares blankly into space.
"I'll eat when I can see." She huffs angrily and I chuckle.
"What is fucking funny about this carina??" She snaps and I laugh harder.
"The fact you're mad at me when YOU didn't take care of yourself." I snap and she pushes my hand away angrily.
"Get the fuck out if you're gonna be like that."
"You need to get over yourself."
"Carina I swear to God. Start a fight. We can go toe to toe right here in this room."
"Oh calm the fuck down. 'Toe to toe' babe, when you can get out of bed we can discuss that. But right now you're going to shut up, eat the food and get better because the whole reason we're in this mess is because you didn't take care of yourself!! So eat the fucking mystery meat!!" I shout putting the spoon to her mouth again.
She sighs defeated and she opens her mouth begrudgingly. Silently I praise myself and I feed her the food happily.
When the plate is empty she sighs loudly.
"What is it love?" I ask turning to grab my cell phone.
"I have missed you." She whispers and I hear her voice crack.
"Don't cry. You're okay." I say putting my hand on hers and she begins to cry softly.
"Y-you are the only thing in this world that I strive for. You are my favorite person on this earth other than our girls. When I was with my dad.. I lost meaning. I lost value." She explains breathlessly and I shake my head.
"You don't need me to hold value my love."
"I do though. Because you are the reason I am so soft. You make me happy. You make me whole. You love me, no matter how mean I am, no matter how unreasonable I am."
"I love you no matter what bambina."
"You have a stubborn sense of love." She whispers with a small smile and I kiss the back of her hand softly.
"You make me want to give stubborn love."

We both sit and enjoy each other's company for a bit and I hear the door knob rattle before Andy walks in with our girls.
"MOMMAAAA!!!" Juni yells excitedly before sprinting to maya and jumping onto her bed.
"Gentle. Gentle juni. You don't want to hurt her."
Em walks in slowly behind her, texting and I look at her questionably.
"Who are you texting bambina?" I ask cocking my head and she puts her phone away instantly.
"Just my biology group." She whispers looking over to maya and walking to her.
Emberleys POV
"Can we listen to Cody Johnson???" Juni asks a big smile plastered across her face.
"Oh, mi flora bonita, why must you like a man who dips tobacco and sings about falling in love in a creek?" Andy asks putting him onto the radio as we're on our way to see momma.
I feel my phone buzz and I look down at it.

DB, let's meet up?
Coach:
I'll be at my class till 6 pm.
Paxton:
I miss u.
I roll my eyes and I slowly type a response to coach.
Me:
I'm going to see my mom. Maybe another day?
Coach:
I can meet you. Hospital on banks?
Me:
Yes.
Coach:
Be there in 20. Just meet me in a bathroom. Get ready. I'm 🧱 up.
Great.
"Who are you texting bambina?"
I put my phone up and shrug anxiously.
"Just my biology group." I whisper walking to maya.
She is just staring blankly into space as I walk up and I feel my heart twinge.
"M-momma?" I ask quietly and she puts her hand out for me to take.
"Don't worry monkey. I'm okay." She whispers shaking her head.
I sit on the edge of her bed and I lean on her and she sighs.
"I have missed you lovely."
"I've missed you momma."
I feel my phone buzz and my heart rate spikes.
As I'm sitting on the bed my phone keeps going off, repeatedly. One message after the other. I take my phone out after I stand and I nearly gasp.

Meet me in the bathroom.
Coach:
Hope you're ready.
Coach:
If you want, bring that beautiful mom of yours too.
Coach:
Jk. Jk. I would never.
Coach:
Em?
Coach:
If you don't show I can come find you.
I cannot continue to do this.
Me:
I'm omw.
"I've got to pee, I'll be back." I say getting up and walking out slowly.
I get to the womens restroom and I walk in to see him. He nearly tackles me into the door and locks it.
Immediately his lips are on mine and he's groaning.
"Oh I've missed you." He mumbles fiddling with his belt and i put my hands on his.
"Slow down. Why are you in such a hurry." I whisper questionably and he groans loudly rubbing himself through his pants.
"Get on your fucking knees." He says pushing on my shoulder but I don't do as told. This ends badly.
He kicks my knee hard and I collapse to my knees, before I'm sent into a gruesome flashback.
