He,

After calming myself, I returned to the office to resume my work. I heard a knock and glanced at my watch— exactly 5 PM.

"Come in", I said.

My Assistants and bodyguards entered, carrying piles of investigation papers.

I remember instructing them to investigate the ball case three months ago to find my girl. I can't quite figure out why I crave her so much. An Unknown urge, maybe it's just an attraction sparked by our closeness or the curiosity of her remaining the mystery.

I'm not a fucking hormonal teenager to define it infatuation, so Why? Why?? I don't understand. Soon, I have to sort things out.

At that time, we conducted an investigation deeply. They interrogated the people I invited to the event, their relatives, friends and other connections as well, but couldn't find anything about her.

After sometime I stopped searching for her, not because we couldn't find her; I still could still do that. But I don't want to keep driving myself crazy over her and end up feeling like a foolish clown.

But today's accident reminded me of her again. In both incidents, I didn't see her face, but I felt her voice. Looks like my colorful butterfly won't let me live in peace. I wouldn't mind giving her my attention, but she sure couldn't endure it.

I smirked and snapped out from web of thoughts. Giving a stern look at my bodyguard, I started reading the documents.

"Speak", I said.

They explained that the accident wasn't a deliberate plot and that our security systems around the mall were both perfect and attentive. The reason for that horrible incident, they said, was the recent renovation of that section of the mall. Due to the contractor team's lack of delivering perfect work, the upper glass ceiling wasn't fitted properly and it nearly cost me my life. Usually, my team double—checks such work, but they couldn't do so because of my sudden visit.

Huh, poor excuse.

"What is the point of providing piles and piles of cash for your work, only to deliver some crappy outputs?", I shouted, unable to control my frustration over the silly, stupid mistakes. They must already regret things.

"Boss we can't justify what happened today, but we assure you there will be no next time. The people who are all those involved behind this reckless incident, from top to bottom, have been captured and are already receiving the punishments they deserve. You are welcome to visit anytime".

I smirked, knowing exactly what he meant behind those formal words. I was sure my team was torturing them to death. I nodded casually, waiting for him to start sharing about the news I was actually eager to hear.

"Boss, after what happened today, we have a plan to form a team with world's most talented people working in the security field. This team will monitor the quality and working of our overall security system, including all maintenance. They will ensure your safety is always prioritized and double-checked. If you approve, we will submit the planning document in a week," he added.

And he is my first-in-command Ryder.

Ryder is the Head of all departments, simply put, my right hand. He is hardworking, trustworthy, my personal assistant, who knows my personal affairs well. He earned my trust through his flawless work.

"I will think about it Ryder", I said calmly.

"And boss about the girl..." His tone made it clear he knew I had been waiting for this part. I looked at him with who cares expression, but his eyes hinted that he could see right through me clearly.

Idiot just break the pot already, I thought.

"Boss, we couldn't trace the girl's profile." My excitement dropped at that moment. He asked me to check the emails to review the CCTV footages.

There, she was, entering into the mall from the parking lot, wearing a damn scarf that covered her face almost everything except her eyes.

Damn girl!

She walked casually into the mall, slowly removing her scarf but avoiding looking straight ahead, her eyes deeply fixed on the ground as if lost in thought.

I feel a little anxious with each passing second; she's testing my patience. My eyes never moved from the laptop, not even for a second, just to catch a glimpse of her. Stupid me, I thought. Suddenly, she seemed to notice something and started running towards me, I had been walking on the other side the whole time.

Then it all happened in less than a minute—my angel saved me. Due to clumsiness, I couldn't see her face clearly, and it wasn't captured well in the footage either. When I got distracted, she ran away. At this moment I gritted my teeth, sure others must have heard.

Why the hell did she run away without even letting me talk a single word and have a moment with her?

Damn it!

I Looked at him and just nodded, like it didn't affect me.

"Boss, if you wish," Ryder continued, but I cut him off in the mid-sentence. I know what he was going to ask.

What should I order? Open previous case?? Investigate if both girls are same?? Even though I feel they're same.

No, not a good idea, for her.

"Leave it and get back to your work", with that I dismissed everyone.

I hate my current confused state, but I don't know why I have a strong feeling that my curious little one will cross my path soon. I smiled. She better not, because if that happens, then no one in this world can save her from me. I surely won't stop until I cage her.

My mysterious cute Butterfly.
