CHAPTER NINE.
narrative.

╰──────༺♡༻──────╯

"DANIEL?" Caia asked as she opened her door to reveal her best friend. The boy didn't waste a second and walked right into the apartment once she had opened the door. "Come in I guess."

"Why am I dating Mia?" Daniel asked causing the girl to furrow her eyebrows. "Like honestly why?"

"What—"

"She actually makes me miserable about half the time I'm with her. No, my bad not with her since I haven't seen her in person for almost two months!" Daniel ranted. "I mean what kind of relationship consists of the significant others not seeing each other for more than an hour every two months!"

"Long distance relationships..."

"Doesn't count." Daniel waved off and continued to pace around the apartment living room while Caia stood and stared at him. "She actually lives in L.A. so I truly don't understand why we never see each other or why she never answers her phone, but then somehow it's my fault we never have any stupid pictures together to show the fans we're still together even though we physically aren't together."

Caia waited for him to stop, and when it seemed as though he was finished she started to speak. "Okay Daniel—"

"And then!"

"Oh there's more."

"She doesn't even use a new picture of us. That picture is from so long ago I barely remembered it! To top it all off she put a picture of herself first! The whole point was that the post was to be of us! Not her and us! I mean she's so pretty so I wasn't mad at it, but still!" Daniel continued.

"It's as if I'm the crazy one for not putting all of my emotional energy into this very much one sided relationship! Sorry for not taking more pictures of our imaginary dates! My motherf—"

"Daniel! My goodness chill out!" Caia interrupted him making the boy stop and take a breath. "She's not even here who are you yelling at?"

"I don't know. Oh! Maybe I'm yelling at Mia, since everything else is one sided I guess our fights might as well be too! Screw you Mia! No screw you Daniel!"

"Now you're just talking crazy, please stop this is so scary to watch." Caia pleaded.

Daniel stopped and stared at the girl, "You're so bad at comforting people you know that?"

"Well I'd be so much better at it if you'd tell me what's wrong with you." Caia rolled her eyes. "Now tell me what's going on?"

Daniel sighed, "Mia texted me today."

Caia waited for him to continue with a raise of her eyebrows, "Daniel be so serious right now, there's obviously more than that."

"Oh yeah, well she practically criticized me for always posting and being around you more than I do with her even though she's quite literally never around and quite literally never answers my texts, but apparently that's my fault so she posted that picture today after quite literally blaming me for it all." Daniel huffed.

"That's not your fault, Daniel. It's hers, and she "quite literally" can't blame you for that." Caia shook her head.

"Well she is." Daniel shrugged before immediately scoffing. "What do I do Cai?"

Caia furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you serious? You break up with her."

Daniel shook his head making Caia's frown deepened, "You're shaking your head at me— Why are you shaking your head at me?"

"I can't just break up with her."

"Why not?"

"Because I like her."

"That's why you need to break up with her."

"How is that a reason to break up with her? Isn't that supposed to be the opposite reason?"

"Daniel, you've been dating Mia for so long and every time you talk about her it's never anything good, and that's saying something because you barely talk about her. Not only that, you've only ever said you like her never love her and usually by now people start to at least feel like they're falling for their significant other. You? Never." Caia said.

"Caia—"

"And I'm not saying that's a problem! There's no rush in feeling love, you feel it when you feel it, but you can never tell me why you even like her."

"It's hard to describe! She's just— she's Mia!" Daniel defended himself.

"That's not a reason."

"Oh yeah? What about you and Zeke?"

"Don't do that, we're talking about you and Mia. You came here to talk about you and Mia." Caia shook her head.

"You're just saying that because you know I'm right." Daniel crossed his arms.

"And you're just saying that because you know I'm right." Caia pursed her lips.

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"Unfortunately." Daniel sighed. "So, what do you think I should do?"

Caia blinked at him, "I literally just told you."

"Yeah, but I didn't like it so give me something else." Daniel stated.

"You're the most difficult person I've ever talked to in my entire life." Caia sighed heavily.
