So Ella and the doctor, called Nick, wasted no time on catching up with each other.

Ella was fascinated by Nick and who they were, and how they'd become one of the most famed doctors in the world, or even the whole universe.

Nick was just fascinated by Ella's existence, though it proved slightly annoying.

They agreed to meet up at a diner the day after they met, and from then on, their research on each other furthered.

"Explain that part again?" Ella had a pencil to her chin, taking notes on a small notepad.

Nick was just eating a basket of fries. "There's, um, split cells in a telekinetic's mind. But this doesn't really apply to you."

"And someone with Althorne's Syndrome--"

"Oh, it's not called that anymore." Nick pointed a fry at her notepad. "It's just called telekinesis. That's what it is. But again, it doesn't apply to you."

"I thought I'd fall under the telekinetic category." Ella leaned back in the cushioned chair.

"Um... not exactly." Nick leaned back, thinking as well. "Telekinesis is manipulating objects with your mind. And pyrokinesis is manipulating fire, so if we follow that Latin rule, then you would be ventikinesis. Manipulating wind."

"That doesn't even sound like a word, but I guess it makes sense."

"I'm coining it today. Every word was new at some point."

"But what about you?" Ella leaned forward, emphasizing every syllable. "You're the greatest mind in a century, and you're the last telekinetic. I want to know about you!"

"Good luck." Nick laughed, dropping a fry in their mouth. "Not much you can find about me, and I wouldn't call myself the greatest mind in a century either. I know a lot of those."

"So, given the fact that you're 26 years old, you must have been born in 2033. Right?"

"Mhm." Nick sort of just went along with it.

"And you must have been born here, and not on Earth. Right?"

"Yeah." And here was the point where they deviated—lying to a child, they thought, would be easier than lying in general.

"Man, tell me everything about what it was like back then! You must have seen or at least heard the explosion!"

Right. The planet Earth exploding was a giant thing back then. Nick remembered it exactly, though they didn't really want to. "It split in half and basically just turned into stardust. Not much else about it."

"It couldn't have been that boring," Ella crossed her arms, "but I've never seen it, so I can't be sure. You must have been lucky to have caught it."

"I was your age, probably." There was no 'probably' about it. "And you were born at that point. What, one or two years old?"

"I'd have been two." Ella pushed away her notepad. "But you don't remember much when you're two."

"Right." Nick went back to their fries, taking a few sips of their drink. "So, I officially diagnose you with ventikinesis. You're welcome."

"Oh, that's not all I came to you for." Ella put a hand over the table to bring their attention back. "I want you to teach me."

"Teach you... what?"

"How to control them." Ella beamed. "You must know all about that."
