𝐘/𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐕MY HEAD was throbbing when I woke up. I tried opening my eyes but all I was accompanied with was more pain. I groaned as I sat up slowly. As I looked around the room all the memories from last night came flooding back. Oh no, Oh no no no no
I am never drinking again.
I swung my feet over the side of the bed which caused even more pain to shoot to my head. I looked at the clock on the side of Emily's bed and saw that it was 9:37. Thank God it was Saturday.
I got a good look at her room for the first time. Just like her office, there was nothing personal. Her bedroom looked like it came straight out of a high-end Ikea catalog. The walls were grey and there were a couple of art pieces. Her bedsheets were white and she had a couple of throw pillows that matched the art.
I finally made my way to the bathroom and couldn't help but stare at myself in the mirror. Dear God, I don't think I've ever looked worse...
I had dark circles under my eyes and my hair was all tangled. I couldn't help but stare at the Yale sweatshirt Emily gave me. It was worn in but it was the comfiest sweatshirt I had ever worn. It even smelled like her. Emily smells really good...
All of a sudden I heard a blender going off from downstairs and the noise sent shooting pains through my head. I groaned as I made my way out of the room. I walked down the stairs slowly and every movement was making my head throb even more. The fluorescent lights also were not helping.
I made my way to the kitchen and saw Emily standing at the counter pouring some green juice into a cup. I couldn't help but linger on her outfit. She was wearing jeans and a red tank top. Holy fucking hell.
"You're up." She said as I slowly took a seat. "Drink this, it'll help." She continued as she pushed the drink towards me. I stared at the green concoction and slowly brought it to my lips. When I took a sip it took everything in me to not spit it out. I quickly choked the rest of it down and felt like I had to throw up all over again.
"Good?" Emily asked skeptically after watching me drink the entire thing.
"Yeah, it was really good! Thanks!" I said trying to give her a big smile. I already felt awful for making her deal with me last night. She had gone out of her way to help me so the least I could do was pretend I liked whatever atrocious drink she just made.
All of a sudden I hear Emily let out a laugh. "Y/n, I was kidding. I know it tastes awful but it really does help with hangovers."
I let out a sigh of relief, "Oh thank God. If you had offered me another one I think I would actually throw up." I said which caused her to laugh a little harder. God, I love her laugh...
"I'm also making some pancakes, those should help too," Emily said as she brought her attention to a bowl on the other side of the kitchen.
"Emily, you don't have to do that," I said quietly. I already felt guilty for being such a burden to her.
"I know, but I want to." She said softly with her back still toward me.
I could feel a blush immediately coming to my face. I didn't expect her to be so... caring? I didn't know what to say so I sat there quietly. The silence was actually pretty nice. My head was still pounding but not as much as it was when I woke up.
All of a sudden I felt Sergio jump into my lap. I pet him as I watched Emily pour the pancake batter into a pan. I couldn't help but stare at her toned arms as they moved to flip the pancakes.
This whole thing felt so weird but comforting at the same time. I watched her as if we'd done this a hundred times. I couldn't help but let my mind wander to the what-ifs. What if this was how I woke up every morning? In Emily Prentiss' bed before she makes me breakfast. We laugh and talk about random things, but all that really matters is that I'm with her.
