Chapter 4

The Secret In The Library

I've always wanted to know more about Techno.

Ever since we meant, I've wanted to know more.

And I finally will.

I've been searching the library, reading every book I could get my hands on.

I'm reminded of Wilbur.

My Brother

Will would spend most of his days here in the library reading and I would sit next to him and try to read along.

Even though I was to young to know how to read.

The nights we fell asleep in here together were the nights I slept the best.

Finally I found a book that explained that there was another library in a kingdom in the North.

A kingdom of ice and snow, The Antarctic Empire.

The book claimed that the library withheld ancient information that no mortals were ever supposed to know and that only the old rulers of the empire knew where the library was located.

These rulers disappeared over two centuries ago and no one has seen either of them since.

That's a lie, I've seen them both.

I knew, I had knew for a long time and just never wanted to except it.

My father and Techno..... are a lot old then I thought....

I continued reading through the book until I got to a paragraph that talked about a child of my father that was destine to become a powerful king and how him and Techno were bound to meet each other when Techno came to visit but there wasn't a single thing on me meeting him in that book and that's when it hit me.

And I was never meant to be born..

And Technoblade knew it.

I just wanted to have a morning to relax and play my dust covered violin.

When I heard a thud come from the library.

I figured it was just a book that had fallen and went to continue down the hall..

Then I heard Tommy scream and another, louder, thud. That when I knew Tommy had fallen off a library latter. When I ran into the library Tommy was sitting up holding his left leg, crying.

"Tommy, what happened!? Are you alright?!" I asked kneeling down to look at his leg.

"Don't fucking touch me you prick!" Tommy shouted back.

"Heh? Tommy what is your problem?" I said.

"You! Your my problem!" Tommy screams.

I just stared at him with, I'm sure what looked like a confused look on my face, cause he started shouting in my face again.

"You should have told me! You should have told me I was a mistake, that I wasn't meant to be born! That's why you and Wilbur always a stronger bond than you and I do! I just don't understand why you never told me 'bout that book Technoblade!"

Tommy sobs while he speaks.

Seeing him like this.... I don't know why but it makes me feel mad at myself.

Yes I knew Tommy wasn't meant to be born and that it was only meant to be me and Wilbur against the world but somehow... Tommy survived what was meant to be his death and I ended up being here with him instead of Wilbur.

But what book is he talking about?

"Tommy.. I didn't tell you to protect you I-" I'm cut off by Tommy.

"You sound just like Dad..... Techno?"

"Yes Tommy?" I ask letting go of the fact that he interrupted me in my previous statement.

"Why did he leave?" asks Tommy.

"Well that's a hard question Tommy considering I don't know myself." I say

"I figured he would have told you." Tommy says as I reach over to inspect Tommy's leg once again, this time though he lets me actually get a good look at it.

His leg is swollen and is starting to bruise around the general area of his knee and lower calf.

By the looks of it he broke his leg, Dang it Tommy.

"What happened?" I ask for the second time.

"I fell off the latter after I drop the book." Tommy answers.

So that's what the first thud was.

"What book Tommy?" I ask.

"That one, I'm sure you'll look at the cover and recognize it.." Tommy says as he points to a book that is on the floor next to the latter.

I go to pick up the discarded book with a purple cover.

The cover reads, Tales of the SMP.

Tommy was right, I do recognize this book.

It was written by a time traveler lost to time and space.

Why in the gods is this book in our library and how did Tommy manage to find it?

"Tommy... you don't need to worry about this book, okay?" I say, in more of a persistent voice.

"But Techno.. what 'bout Theseus? Who is he?" Tommy asks.

"Did the book mention Theseus?" I ask more concerned than anything.

Theseus is who Tommy was suppose to be, a god of peace, which I think would have made sense for Tommy.

"Yeah it did... he was meant to be a god but he was made mortal by the Green God and supposedly doesn't remember what was suppose to be his godhood." Tommy explains to me.

"I'm aware Tom. Cause I know Theseus personally." I state.

It's a horrible idea to tell him that he was suppose to be Theseus but if he found out about all this he will work it out eventually, so it is better just to tell him now instead of hiding it from him.

"Really?! Who is it?! Tell me!" Tommy says, super excited.

I stand up and Tommy proceeds to forget that is leg is completely broken and tries to get up, almost immediately falling back to the ground.

"A little help?" Tommy says in a tune full of annoyance.

"Here." I hold out my hand and he grabs it and balances himself on one leg with help from my hand.

"Well?" he says trying to remind me of the question from early.

"Well?" I tease.

"Techno. This is no time for games. Now help me over to that chair and tell me who it is." Tommy orders.

I help him get over to a chair that is next to a desk in the corner of the room after he sits down he gives me a look of 'I'm waiting'.

"Tommy.. this is gonna be a lot to process okay?" I state.

"Get on with it." Tommy says, patience dwindling away.

"Tommy, Theseus is-" I'm cut off by a door slamming open and a scream of a man I haven't seen since before Tommy took the throne.

"Tom!" the man yells

"Wilbur?"
