Fire Meets Fate

Alec walked into Magnus's apartment after receiving a text from him
"U asked me here?" He asked Magnus as Magnus walked into the room "anything about how to wake..."
"Jocelyn" Magnus finished for him "I'm looking into it" he told him. "But I was hoping to have a conversation about ur wedding" Alec sighed
"There's no conversation to be had. Im getting married. U and I, we understand marriage very differently. Im a shadowhunter. This is about family and tradition, honor"
"Honor?" Magnus asked. "Where's the honor in living a lie?"
"What are u talking ab?
"What ab...love?" Magnus asked. "Even shadowhunters fall in love, Alec....just tell me ur in love with Lydia and I'll stop." Alec didn't answer for a moment
"I...I don't know" he told him. "Why are u pushing...just like Diana. It's...i..I...ur...." Alec stammered. He sighed "ur confusing me. I mean...w..why do u even care?" Magnus set his drink down on his table.
"Because I love my little biscuit, alright?...look, Confusion is apart of it. That's how u find out if somethings there. Emotions are never black and white. They're more like...symptoms." He paused, beginning to walk around alec "u lose ur breath every time they enter a room." He snapped his fingers, making Alec's heart beat faster. Alec placed his hand over his heart, feeling it "ur heart beats faster when they walk by. "Ur skin tingles when they stand close enough to feel their breath" Magnus blew a small magic gust of wind on Alec's neck making alec shift his weight, nervously before sighing and turning around to look at Magnus "I know u feel what Diana feels, alec" Magnus told him
"U don't have any idea what I feel....so back off" alec told him. He walked away slightly "u just don't get it. What, u want me to give up my life for her? I could lose my family, my career, everything"
"U have a choice to make." Magnus told him before walking away and Alec left the apartment.

"Let me guess, he totally spazzed out?" Diana asked Magnus over the phone as she walked around her room. Magnus took a deep breath
"Something like that" he stated
"Look, I told u. It's no use. Alec is too hard headed to ever give into something he's been taught his whole life to ignore"
"He can't hold it in for too long, biscuit. U have one day before he gets married...state a good case before u lose ur chance" Magnus told her before the two hung up the phone.

Diana walked around the institute until she finally found Alec but instead of him being alone he was with Lydia. She sighed, annoyed before walking up to them. Lydia smiled as Alec stood awkwardly
"Hello, Diana" lydia greeted
"Hi"
"Is there something u need?" Lydia asked
"Yes, I need to borrow ur Mr. Perfect here." Diana smiled, pointing at Alec
"M..me?" Alec asked surprised
"Yep" Diana nodded
"Actually, we were about to go greet some ambassadors that came in for our wedding tomorrow night" Lydia told her "so...maybe later?" She suggested before starting to walk away. Diana rolled her eyes
"I didn't ask u" she stated, not turning around "five minutes?" She asked Alec. Alec looked behind Diana at lydia who had a disapproving look on her face
"Uh..." Alec stammered "five minutes won't hurt right?" He asked lydia. Diana turned around and smiled at lydia who rolled her eyes before walking away. Diana started to walk and Alec walked with her "what's up?" Alec asked
"Jace and clary are going with Magnus to check out a lead on the warlock that spelled my mom"
"Wait what? Why hasn't anyone told me. Do they need my help? Why aren't u going?"
"Lots of questions" Diana sighed "u weren't told because you've been stuck to Miss Perfects side all morning. No, they don't need ur help, and I'm not going because I'm spending the day with u" Diana smiled
"Wait what?" Alec looked at her with furrowed brows "why?"
"Well I thought about it and...u shouldn't be spending ur last day of freedom as a single man, greeting wedding guests"
"Well Lydia needs..."
"Ah" Diana put her hand out, stopping Alec "I don't care about what lydia wants..or needs...or..her at all, ok? And I also don't care what u want. It's happening. Meet me in an hour" Diana told him before walking away.
"What did she want?" Lydia asked as she walked up to Alec
"Uh..to tell me clary and jace were going to check on a lead about the warlock who spelled their mom" Alec told her as they started to walk away together.
