The next day he wakes up, mostly refreshed. As he locks the cage on, he realizes that if they fired him, then he wouldn't need to worry about locking his cock up any more. A brief thought flitted through his mind that he would miss wearing the cage.

He knew it was his imagination, but when he entered the office, the atmosphere seemed to be more oppressive than normal. He didn't have a chance to sit at his desk before Ms. Wallace was standing beside him.

"Put your bag down and come with me."

Sam knew better than to argue. The sound of her heels on the tile floor seemed to be sharper than normal. A fleeting thought went through his mind that he would miss that sound. As he expected, they walked past her office to a conference room outside of HR. Sally and Mark, the head of HR, were already there.

Sally sneered, "No surprise you would be late."

Mark glared at her. "Sally, please be quiet for now. You will have time to speak."

Sam saw the briefest look of shock on her face. He sat across from Sally, with Macy and Mark on the other sides of the square table.

Mark started. "We have a few items to discuss today. Depending on how this meeting goes, it can determine your employment here." He said the last bit looking at Sam, which only made Sam more nervous. "Let's go through last week chronologically. Sam, you didn't take your flight scheduled by the company. Is that correct?"

"Yes. I was in the gate area when an announcement was made looking for people to give up their seats so a family could fly together."

Mark turns to Sally. "Did you hear this announcement?"

"No. I didn't."

"Were you in the gate area before the flight?"

"I must have been in the bathroom at the time of the announcement."

"So then you weren't, " Mark checks a notepad, "rushing to board the plane when you saw Sam sitting in the gate area."

Sally glares at Sam. "I had gone to get a drink to take on to the plane and the line was longer than I was expecting."

Mark nods and takes notes. "Did anything else happen Sunday?"

Sally quickly speaks. "I waited for Sam in the hotel lobby to make sure he arrived safely. He smelled like he had been drinking and was cold and rude to me."

Mark turns to Sam, "What do you have to say about your actions?"

Sally starts again, "The smell coming off of him was horrible."

"Sally, please let Sam speak."

"For giving up my seat, I had gotten an upgrade on the plane, some vouchers for a future trip, and an extra hour at the airport. I had a beer with dinner, and a complementary cocktail on the flight. I chose rum and coke." Sam takes a breath. "As for my reception of Sally in the hotel, I admit it could have been warmer." Sally harrumphs. "Her rushing at me threw me off; demanding to know about my change in travel plans and my drink consumption." Sally opens her mouth, but Mark holds up a hand to stop her from speaking.

"Sally, please give him the courtesy of letting him speak. You can respond after he is done. Continue Sam."

"During her display of concern, she had grasped my arm. I had asked her to release me so I could check in and go to my room, but she was insistent on having her concerns addressed."

Sam tries to ignore Sally's squirming in his peripheral vision.

"I see. So when you answered her questions, were you able to check in then?"
