••. chp 5: you did great love.••

"Uh.. I sing.. " I say as I awkwardly look at copia, I had  a good voice I will admit, I just haven't sang in a while, I also get really bad anxiety when im on stage. I've always been able to overcome it but it still sucks. "Will test that, which one would u like to do first? " I think for a moment, guitar. Definitely. "Guitar." I say confidently, papa laughs, I think of what song I could do... Square hammer. That song always had a pull to me, especially the guitar work. I walk onto the stage as I look down at Papa nihil, sister imperator, copia, and sodo who looks like he was to commit homicide. I plug in the guitar and put my fingers in the first note, I take a deep breathe, and then I start.

••. After square hammer 🤭. ••

I hit the last note and everything falls silent. I look down to see sodos jaw slightly hanging open, papa nihil looks shocked? Dead? Idk his air breathing mask blocks his face..sister imperator just sitting there blank face. I don't think she likes me that much. "that was amazing y/n! " papa emeritus yells in amaze. His words meant a lot. I knew I was good but I didn't think I was that good. I thought I was okay. Not good.

"Self taught right? " sister imperator says bluntly. "Mhm.. It was my mental escape as a growing up. " I say frowning at the thought of my past. And my mom. Satan only knows how much I hate her. I look down at sodo to see him frowning. I give him a small smile. "Ready to sing? " papa says smiling at me. I take a deep breathe, "indeed I am. " I smile. "What song are u gonna do? " papa asks, my smile growing bigger, "the death of peace of mind, by bad omens. " I chuckle. The song was always a confidence booster for me.

"Good choice" papa laughs a little, I look over to see papa nihil smiling, imperator confused, sodo snickering, he definitely knows this song. I walk over to the mic. Taking a deep breathe getting ready to start. 3..2..1.. Another deep breathe, "I made another mistake, thought I could change, " I closed my eyes concentrating, "thought I could make it out, promises break, need to hear u say, "  "your gonna keep it now. " I smile as adrenaline takes over, anxiety leaving my body, " I miss the way u say my name, the way u bend, they way u break. "

  I sharply inhale so I can breathe but not miss a line, "your makeup running down your face, the way you touch the way u taste, "  "when the curtains call the time, will we both go home alive? It wasn't hard to realize, " I smile, "loves the death of peace of mind", I close my eyes again, hand on the mic, as I bring my voice to a slight whisper, " your in the walls that I made with crosses and frames, hanging upside down" " for granted, in vain, I took everything, I ever cared about"  my favorite parts coming up. I smile at the thought. " I miss the way you say my name," " the way u bend the way u break, your makeup running down ur face, " I smile as I sing this part, "the way you fuck, the way u taste" I see sodo chuckle, papa IV smiling widely, papa nihil smiling, sister imperator with a.. Disappointed?.. Look I guess.. 🤷‍ "when the curtains call the time, will we both go home alive? " " it wasn't hard to realize, loves the death of peace of mind. " 

I stop there. Papa IV starts clapping along with sodo, papa nihil with a even wider smile. Imperator looking not quite happy. "Wonderful y/n! I think you'll be a perfect fit for the band. " I feel a hand on my shoulder, I look back to see sodo smiling up at me, I smile back at him then back at papa, sister imperator speaks up "no." Everyone including papa nihil look at imperator with plain confusion. "What? " papa emeritus asks, "they don't fit. The eyes, the stance, and I didn't like the song choice. " ok now I was annoyed. What was wrong with my stance. It's not like I was singing in front of a whole ass crowd yet. Satan, id go absolutely feral on stage.

"What's wrong with my eyes" I say obviously annoyed, "their different colors. How do we know ur not some mixed species? " the fuck? "Um no. I'm not a 'mixed species' " I say doing air quotes with my fingers (show off. Imagine having ability to use all ur fingers 🤭) "how do I know ur not lying? How do we know ur not gonna try and kill us? " she's just making up excuses to not let me in, it's not really her choice tho, technically, it's papa nihils. "If I wanted to hurt anyone here I would've done so already. My eyes are my parents genes splitting individually instead of mixing together and one taking over. I'm a fire and earth ghoul. Maybe ask before making assumptions. " imperator scoffs. "Watch ur attitude. " she says, my tail flicks angrily, "I'm returning the attitude I received. " sodos tail brushes against mine as a way to tell me to chill out.

"Nonsense, " papa nihil speaks up, "y/n would be a perfect fit for the band, they know all the songs, have a beautiful voice, and all the ghouls like her. " he looks at me and smiles and he grabs both my hands in his "what do u say y/n? Would u like to join Ghost?  " I smile at the question, "yes of course. " I smile as papa nihil let's go of my hands, "perfect. You'll be a great fit, we'll send u a ritual uniform soon" he smiles has he grabs sister imperators hand and leads them both outside, "welcome to the band y/n. Everything looks to be all set but, one thing. You stage name. "

A/n: yea so I broke my finger but I'm still getting updates out 🤭 it's currently 2am I'm going to sleep now💀 sorry for the short ish chapter I'm tired lmao
