A/N: Seo Ye-Ji is in the picture above. I apologize in advance that there may be grammatical errors. Anyway, enjoy the chapter!
Seo Ye-Ji (Soh- yeh-Ji) first laid eyes on him two weeks before her freshman year in college. After she had left Seoul in South Korea to go to Rose Thorn University. She spent about two weeks looking for a job when she walked into a nightclub in town that had a "Now Hiring!" sign on the side of the building. When she walked in, sitting on the barista side of the bar was a petite woman in her mid-30's yelling at a woman in her twenties.
"Get out!" she yelled, pointing to the door. The woman dashed out the nightclub looking embarrassed. Leaving only her and Seo Ye-Ji alone in the bar. The woman angerly ruffled her platinum blonde hair completely unaware of her presence.
"Excuse me? I'm here to apply for the job" she was met with a pair of dark blue eyes, her forehead scrunched in annoyance. She could feel the woman's eyes examining every inch of her body as if trying to analyze her. Ye-Ji shifted uncomfortably where she was standing. Suddenly, as if the anger was never even there, the lady grinned.
"You're in," she said.
"Huh? Pardon?" her words leaving her temporally incapable of speech.
"Leave your application there, I'll see you next week at 6pm.," she said walking towards the back room of the club and waving with her back facing her. She stood there processing her words before she found herself walking towards the direction where the lady disappeared to. Her face met with the chest of a sudden figure blocking her way.
"Tori isn't seeing anyone right now." His low masculine tone causes her to glance up and was met with a pair of chocolate brown eyes and quickly stepped back after realizing the position they were in. She could almost feel the countless hours this man had spent in the gym, with their bodies pressed together with no space in between. Judging by his black shirt along with matching jeans, he was a bodyguard here at the nightclub.
"But I need to ask her a few questions," she said trying to get past him, it was no use. This man was like a brick wall. After trying to push him away again she decided to take a different approach.
"Please," pouting, she looked up and gave him the cutest puppy dog eyes she could muster. She could tell he was trying to hide his smile, but she could see the amusement in his eyes as he looked down at her. She gasped, "Look! Isn't that guy trying to steal?!" she snickered, it actually worked. He looked away for a split second and she went down under his arms and dashed towards the back room.
"젠장(Damn it)!" he cursed under his breath. But it was too late, she barged into the room. The woman or should I say, Tori looked up from her desk completely unamused as if she was expecting this to happen.
"Why aren't you surprised? No, wait, why did you hire me?" Ye-Ji said, completely confused with the whole situation.
"What then, would you like me to take back that offer?" She said, locking eyes with a challenging stare.
"No Ma'am, you didn't even properly interview me. How do you know I'd do a good job?" Ye-Ji said, waiting for her response. Tori sighed, "I've always been good at reading people, I've never been wrong when it comes to judging someone's character. Now, if you would be so kind as to leave my office, I got a lot of work to do." Ye-Ji subconsciously bowed as that was a way to show respect in her country. After closing the door, she bumped into a familiar chest.
"Ouch" Ye-Ji sheepishly touched her head, pretending to be innocent. She wearily glanced up and realized it was the same bodyguard that she had bumped into earlier and he did not look happy. If looks could kill, she would be six feet under by now.
"Thanks to you. I'm going to get quite a scolding later." He said, clenching his jaw. His piercing gaze shooting knives, not faltering slightly.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that..." she said apologetically, looking shyly away, avoiding eye contact.
He softened his gaze and sighed, "I can't stay mad at beautiful women for long. Are you by any chance Korean?"
"예 (Yes I am) Are you Korean too?" he smiled, causing the corners of his lips to form laugh lines making him look much less intimidating and more playful. "Yes, I am, now I'm not the only Korean around here." He said faking disappointment, but the shine in his eyes say otherwise.
"I'm Kim Jung-Hyun, and you are..." he said trailing on, waiting for her to respond while extending his hand.
"Not interested, if you really want to know. Figure it out yourself" She said, walking away leaving him smirking. "Remember those were your words, not mine!" he yelled from behind her.
