Change of plans (Ryoba x Mr saikou)

Chapter 16

"ICHIROU!?" I called out while walking across the school grounds.
"Ichirou where are you?" No reply
"ICHIROU?" Still no response, I was beginning to get worried about him.
I began to hear small cries and as I followed them, lo and behold, I found Ichirou in the hedge maze with his face in his knees. He looked up when he heard me trampling on branches to get to him, I sat by him.

"...ry?" Ichirou whispered while I thought about the nickname he came up for me "are you ok?" I asked him while my worry was practically flowing from me.
"No" he replied "do you want to talk about it?" I questioned, he simply nodded.
It was strange to see a Saikou in this situation especially considering it was Ichirou, I had never once seen him cry.
"When I was 7, my mother passed away from unknown causes, we were very close and this broke me for years growing up, my father said I was to blame because at that age I was very energetic and caused her stress, but I didn't believe that at the time. When I got older I never got too close to anyone before because I was afraid they would pass too." He teared up "I'm here, I'm here." I reassured him while taking his hand into mine. "But you made me realise that it's not all bad, as soon as my father mentioned my mother my heart shattered once again, even hearing her name was tough." He continued on with his story and by the end I was also crying.

Ichirou had never told me anything about his mother apart from the occasional mention so I didn't know how deep it hurt him. Clearly this affected him a lot and I was going to try and help him through it. In that moment nothing else mattered but us, it seemed like there were no more problems it was just him and I. We spent a while talking with our hands interlocked.

Suddenly he pulled me in and kissed me, by now his tears had gone. I was surprised but I quickly joined in moving myself closer to him so we were more comfortable.

So I'm going to stop right there, I think you know  where this is going but I'm not going to write it just yet, I'm waiting till the next chapter. We love a king with parent issues.
