Rebecca's POV
"Wake up!"I hear someone scream and I jump up from my sleep. I open my eyes and I'm face to face with Lewis. He must be here for the barbecue Jenna's going to have here.

He starts laughing at me and I hit his hand playfully. 'I didn't know you were coming' I tell him, smiling slightly. "I know. I wanted it to be a surprise because I haven't seen you in so long. My dad told me I didn't have to go to school if I didn't want to which was why I haven't come" Lewis tells me. I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes.

'I get it. When my parents died all I wanted to do was stay in my room all day. Alone. I just couldn't believe that they were gone' I tell him. "Yeah. I can barely remember what happened. I don't understand it. Why did we all just drop down all of a sudden?. It's like we felt the same pain. And the police. They took them somewhere. How did they even die?"He looks up at me.

I'm guessing he's asking me because I was the only one there who was okay when everything went down and brought him back safely. 'I don't know. I just know that they took them. After that, I ran off with you' I lie to him.

Well, part of it is a lie. I did run off with him but I know what happened to his Uncle and his mom.

I just can't tell him.

Maybe someday I can, but not now.

'Can you wait for me downstairs?. I'm going to go take a shower' I tell him. He nods his head and walks out of my room. I get up from my bed and walk into the bathroom with my towel and a change of clothes.

Once I'm done taking a shower, I dry myself with my towel, and then I change into the outfit that I took from my closet.

I walk over to the sink and take my toothbrush out of its container. Bringing my toothbrush close to the faucet, I rinse it before applying toothpaste on it.

Once I'm done brushing my teeth, I rinse my mouth with water, and then I wash off the toothbrush before putting it back in its container.

When I walk back into my room, I put my pajamas in my hamper before walking downstairs. "Thanks for letting me invite Caroline. She could use a day of distraction"Elena says to Aunt Jenna when I walk into the kitchen. "Well, she's not the plus one I'm worried about"Aunt Jenna tells Elena.

"Why is Damon coming?"Aunt Jenna asks Elena. "Because Alaric is a pity-taker. Come on, Jenna. Be nice"Elena says. "I'll be nice when Damon learns to keep his paws off you"Aunt Jenna says and I look away from them.

Well, it wasn't Elena he had his paws on but we can't really explain that to Aunt Jenna without bringing up vampires.

"Aha, good news. Found the shot glasses"Mason says when he walks into the kitchen with Lewis trailing behind him. I didn't know that Mason was invited.

Could that be why Damon's coming?.

I know him, and I know he wouldn't just come to some stupid barbecue without a motive.

"That would be my exit"Elena says. "You're here ten minutes and already I'm back under the bleachers at the pep rally"Aunt Jenna says, talking about what I'm guessing is memories from the past with Mason. "It's just like old times, huh?. Only I didn't swipe this bottle from my old man"Mason tells her.

I walk out of the kitchen to go and play with Lewis who went to the front porch. When I walk out and close the door behind me, I see Elena sitting down and talking on the phone.
