Dazai and I arrive at the rooftop of the Port Mafia building.

"It's beautiful... Don't you agree," I say as I hold on to the railing.

"Yeah. It is," he responds while fixing his brunette hair.

I turn to look at him and begin to speak, "So... What did you want to ask?"

Dazai's eyes meet mine as he beings to speak, "So... You're Mori's kid?"

"Unfortunately, I am."

"Do you dislike him?"

"Dislike is an understatement. If anything, I hate his damn guts."

"Agreed... He's an interesting person."

There was a pause of silence until I spoke up.

"So, What's your favorite thing to do? Like in your free time."

Dazai smiles slightly, "Suicide."

"Huh?"

"Suicide," he says as a smirk lies on his pale face.

"Are you serious?"

"One hundred percent serious! My most recent attempt was trying to mix together a deadly concoction of chemicals. Unfortunately, It obviously failed."

"Well, Since you're my partner now... You can't just go out and die on me."

"No promises," as the words leave his mouth. He looks into my eyes and I stare back into his. He then quickly diverts his eyes to the railing.

Dazai continues to speak after the silence, "Have you ever wondered what it'd be like if you were free? If you take one jump... All of the sins you have committed and will commit vanish. Your worries, doubts, and sorrow leave your body. The feeling of sweet release. While it may hurt, you'll be happy."

I put my hand on his shoulder.

He looks at me with dull, brown eyes.

"I understand. I feel that way a lot as well, but I have to keep pushing forward. He'd want me to do this."

"He?"

"An old friend," I say and force a small smile.

Dazai pushes my hand off of him and stands up.

"I'll see you tomorrow I guess." he speaks.
