It has been 2 weeks since the entrance exam, and a week since you were accepted. You still had 2-3 weeks of junior high until the graduation ceremony and when U.A. started. Both events were separated by a week. The day you got the letter that accepted you into U.A., you had tried to speak to your mother, telling her that you got in. That she should be proud that her child got into a top school in Japan. That ended in you yelling (or begging) at her to pay (or for her) attention, but per usual, she didn't react to anything you did.
Currently, everyone was talking about the schools they got into, some kids naming off other hero course schools, and some people saying the standard schools. A few of your peers were muttering something about U.A. and Katsuki which made your ear perk up. "... Didn't you hear? Bakugo made it into the U.A."
"Yeah, I heard. I'm not all that surprised. But apparently, that kid L/n made it in, along with Midoriya..."
"Midoriya made it in? He's quirkless though! I mean I wasn't expecting L/n to make it in, I don't even know their quirk. I really wasn't expecting Midoriya to make it in though!"
"Yeah same, and apparently Midoriya does have a quirk. My friend who also took the entrance exam saw him use it..."
Of course, they're talking about Izuku. Man, they never give me any credit or attention. Ew, now I sound lonely. Also, Izuku having a quirk? what a joke, he would have told me by now... Of course, they weren't talking about how impressed they were that their classmates made it into U.A. and of course, they were only focusing on Izuku. Though it might sound dumb, you wished they spoke about you and gave you more attention. They never focused on you. Only small mentions. You weren't exactly quiet, but you also weren't loud, you were just there. Like a bystander. Like the observer of a show instead of being the lead and getting all the attention. You tuned out the rest of the conversation your classmates were having. Seeing no point in continuing to eavesdrop. The teacher's voice cut through the small talk of your classmates and gained their attention. "Well children, since final exams are over, and everyone has taken their entrance exams, I think it would be fitting to throw an end-of-year homeroom party!"
The giggling and chatter of students overcame the teacher's voice but was quickly silenced. "Yes, yes, I know you are all excited. This celebration will be held next week, on Thursday. Also, students, do not forget the graduation ceremony in 2 weeks! You are all dismissed, but Bakugo, L/n, and Midoriya. You three please stay behind."
All of your classmates left, leaving you three and the teacher alone. You could feel the anger coming off of Katsuki as you walked up to the teacher. He had already known you got in due to you speaking with his mother over the phone (and was already pissed off at that). But now finding out Izuku made it would send him over the edge. You could also feel the fear coming off of Izuku. The 2 clashing auras on either side of you almost made you feel like you were getting ripped apart. You stood in between the two, keeping Katsuki from chewing out Izuku. The Teacher began to speak, talking in awe to you three. "I can't believe we have three students from our school going into U.A.! Especially you Midoriya. It's a miracle!"
You gave a quick glance at Izuku, noticing how he looked like he was drowning in pride and embarrassment. However, you noticed how he shut back down from Katsuki's gaze. After another few minutes of the teacher showering you three in praise, he finally dismissed you all. You started to pack up your things, noting how Katsuki followed directly after Izuku when he left. Guilt? Was that it? You knew what was going to happen between those two and yet you were going to do nothing. You felt some responsibility to protect Izuku, but you never did. Not anymore at least. Maybe it was pity. Perhaps you pitied yourself. (why? Who knows?) With that you left the school campus, ignoring the familiar voices coming from the distance.
