(Finn's P.O.V)
"Jake! Hurry up! We can't be late for the quest PB gave us!" I shouted from the couch downstairs. Jake was taking a hell of a long time, and we needed to get this quest done as soon as we could. Princess Bubblegum had given us a mission to search the beach for any monsters and junk, and if there where monsters and junk, we were allowed to kick their butts! I wanted to get going, but Jake was taking forever. I wish he wouldn't worry about what he looks like out in public.
"Jake! We gotta go!" I shouted again, startling BMO a bit. I chuckled a bit. "Sorry 'bout that BMO. Hey, can you go see what's taking Jake so long?" I asked the little machine. BMO nodded and climbed upstairs, going to see what Jake was up to that was taking four million light-years. I just took my sword out of my backpack and messed around with it a bit. At one point I accidentally cut my finger. "Shit...." I hissed quietly. Jake doesn't like it when I swear, but I don't really mind it at all. I got a washcloth and ran it under a little bit of water so that it was a little damp. I put it over my finger and then put a band-aid on it.
"There! Good as new." I said triumphantly. I looked and saw that BMO had come back down. "So, what's the happs, little buddy?" I asked them. "Jake says that he needs to make sure that everything is all good with his bed, but he will be down in about 30 seconds." BMO said, a timer appearing on their screen. It started counting down from thirty. "Of course he's making his bed." I sighed a bit and sat on the couch again, waiting for Jake to get down here. As if on cue, Jake made his way down and was ready to go.
"Finally. Dude, what took so long?" I asked him. He chuckled. "I needed to make sure that my blanket was in a perfect square form, and it was." He smiled a bit as I just rolled my eyes and smiled as well. I stood up from the couch and gave Jake my signature grin. "Well, c'mon my bro. This quest isn't gonna complete itself!" Jake and I then headed to the beach that PB had been suspicious of.

~Time Skip~
Finn and Jake had made it to the beach and searched around the area for any suspicious or weird behavior and creatures. As they were looking, Finn tripped over a lump in the sand that was abnormally larger than the rest of the sand since it was primarily flat. It also had a weird shape that looked almost... Human? Finn dug up the sand from around the creature and saw that it was, in fact, another human. Finn was so startled that he could barely get a word out. He fumbled with his words a bit before managing to let out a small call of Jake's name. "Is everything good br-" Jake stopped his sentence short as he saw what was in front of his eyes.
The person looked rather weak, seeming to have not eaten or even moved around in a long time. They must've been asleep for a while, their body slowly getting more and more unhealty as time passed. They looked a little bit lighter than they were supposed to be, their (S/C) skin being greyed over in a sense. Their hair was (H/L) and a muted (H/C) due to all the sand in it. It was very rough to the touch, Finn being able to tell the sand stuck to their hair because of the ocean water. They wore a torn up, short sleeved, cropped shirt, having torn up wraps underneath. They had shorts on as well that seemed to have just been pants at one point but were torn up really badly. They had a slightly rusty necklace on them, signaling that they were out in the ocean for a good bit and that they weren't from here. The necklace had a charm on it that was a mauve-like color, the tint being a tad bit more red than purple. Finn and Jake had surely never seen anyone with that kind of necklace before and were puzzled by its existence.
"Dude... How is this possible...?" Jake asked Finn, wondering if he knew anything about this person. Finn shrugged and looked at Jake, small tears in his eyes. "W-We should take them to Princess Bubblegum. She'll know how to take care of them. We'll just let them stay with us once they recover at PB's castle." Finn's voice was a bit shaky, but he managed to hide it. Jake could see that Finn was in shock and simply nodded at him, deciding not to press him about the person any further.
On the way to Princess Bubblegum's castle, the two tried to think of how there could possibly be another human left in the world, The Great Mushroom War causing all the humans but Finn to die out. How could another human be alive, and do they know anything about other humans? Finn reassured himself that the Princess could find out what was going on.

After Jake and I made it to the castle, we brought the person straight to PB, trying to be gentle with them in case they were hurt anywhere. They still needed to be cleaned up, being covered in sand and gross stuff, but it wasn't really our place to do that for them. I wondered what they could be like, if they would like being around us and PB, if they would even want to stick around or go explore the world, and a couple other things.
"Finn! Jake! Oh, I'm so glad you two are back," PB's voice spoke, bringing me back to my senses, "I was just about to finish the last part of my bufferizer mixture and I-" PB cut herself off and gasped, seeing what was in my arms. She looked into my eyes which were tearing up again, still in shock that there's another one of my race left. "PB, I started, "w-we found them... on that beach you sent us to explore..." I looked away from her for a second, trying to stay strong, "Can you please clean them up and help them to wake up? I wanna know who they are and what they could do to help us out in any way possible."
PB cleared her throat and took a deep breath, regaining her previous happy-go-lucky attitude that I don't think was really appropriate in the moment, but, hey, someone's gotta be the optimist of the group. "Of course I can, Finn! They look rather," she looked away for a moment, "beat up to put it bluntly," she then looked back at me, her fists balled and a look of determination on her face, "but I'm absolutely sure that with my genius and your company, we'll have them better in no time!" PB gave both me and Jake a smile, filling us with the confidence that she had.
Jake smiled at the Princess and nodded, me following suit, seeing that reaction as best rather than the shock that I want to express. PB took the person, a part of me feeling a bit empty when she did, and took them to the infirmary to recover before running any tests on them. The castle staff cleaned them up, showing us how malnourished they truly were. PB saw this and flinched a little at it, telling us that the person would need to eat as soon as PB could figure out how to wake them up.
"This is going to take a little while to get them to recover as well as be able to run my proper tests on them," PB started, "so, Finn, if you and Jake want to go do your thing for a bit, you can check back in with us when I send for you. I'll have letters sent to you via The Morrow so that you'll be able to know when we're ready." She smiled at us kindly then left the room, going back to her studies as the person recovered in the infirmary, the castle staff watching over them. I trusted PB and her staff, so I looked over to Jake, telling him that we should go. He agreed with me and we got out of the castle, making our way back home.
I couldn't help but to worry about that person though. Where did they come from? How are they still alive? Are there other humans still out there somewhere? What are the other humans like? What are they like?
What kind of secrets does this one person hold?
