The sound echoed in your mind, the rhythmic thump that resembled a heartbeat. It was as if someone put it on a constant loop, the rest of your mind being void of all visuals that your dreamscape normally had. You tried to look down at your hands, your normal (S/C) skin being covered with a black sludge, blending in with the void. It seemed as if it was actually just made from this goop, being thick in substance, yet easily persuaded in movement. You looked around, frantic to find a way out. To your dismay, there seemed to only be the sludge for miles upon miles. You swam around in the sludge for a bit, seemingly moving through it like water while being covered in it from head to toe. You'd expected it to be a little more difficult to move through the ink-like substance with how thick it was, but you shrugged it off, the dreamscape being an enormous enigma to you. There was nothing for miles, your efforts of swimming toward something being seemingly useless. You looked down at your hands only to see that the inky substance had transformed into the ocean, surprising you greatly. You jerked your head up to the sky only to see the natural blue mixed in with the white puffy clouds that look so much like cotton. Your surroundings changed all too suddenly, the thumping sound quickening as you began to panic more. Your legs and arms were too tired to go on, so you attempted to lay on your back to give yourself a break and to slow your heart rate. However, fate had other plans. You were swiftly pulled into the ocean, not being able to breathe, you trying desperately to swim back up to the surface despite the exhaustion. Your efforts were only in vain as you were pulled further and further down, your lungs suffocating due to the lack of air. You looked down at your body to try and find the source of your distress, only to find that nothing was there, the force pulling you being completely intangible. You began to cry, your tears less visible when surrounded by water. Your lungs were about to give out, your efforts of swimming to the surface going to waste. Your vision was slowly going darker and darker, your lungs finally giving out on you. You were about to lose all consciousness when...

Your eyes flew open, you sitting up slowly, trying to regulate your breathing. You had no idea what had caused you to have that dream, well, more nightmare, but you were sure that it was a cruel and unrelenting force. However, you decided that it was the least of your worries right now, deciding to take a look at your surroundings. This place was bright in color, almost looking like... a candy-type substance?? This thought puzzled you beyond belief, the sweet aroma invading your sense of smell, filling you with both a sense of comfort and hunger. While this place seemed so strange, something in you also felt like you'd been here before, like it was familiar to you. You squinted your eyes at one of the walls, trying to focus and remember who you were before you woke up, getting only your name in response. Your search for familiarity was interrupted by the opening of a door, a girl in all pink walking in and yawning, seemingly just waking up herself. She looked over to you, yelping and jumping back when she realized you were staring back at her. Her response caused you to do the same, yelping and jumping back a bit on the bed you were in. It took the pink girl a bit before making her way toward you, your nerves on end, but that returning feeling of familiarity keeping you from running off, that and the i.v. in your arm.

"Try not to move too much," Her tone a more gentle one than you expected, "You'll only further harm yourself." As she said this, she began checking up on you, doing the whole routine of checking your ears with the light, telling you to say "ahh," etc. You had expected yourself to be on high alert, fighting to get out of this stranger's grasp, but no. It was as if you had done this before, the feeling of the pink girl's presence easing your suspicion and disbelief. Her hands on you were a bit sticky which confused you beyond belief. Apparently, your confusion was written on your face as the pink girl giggled a bit to herself, finishing up checking on you and taking the i.v. out of your arm. "You're wondering who I am, aren't you?" You attempted to speak, having so many questions to ask, but your attempt only ended in excruciatingly painful coughs, the pink girl taking notice and grabbing a glass of water.
