You and Finn were on your way to get to training, the boy taking you to one of the various spots you were unaware of in this land. You seemed to be traveling through one of the many forests in Ooo, the thick trees only having tiny amounts of light coming through, lighting up the surrounding foliage in little dots. As you walked along, two squirrels passed you by. You smiled as they looked up at you, seemingly smiling right back, filling your heart with the serotonin boost you'd been looking for that day. Further along, you saw some mushrooms and other plant life thriving by a group of trees, enjoying both the shade and sunlight in equal parts. It looked gorgeous to say the least, but it didn't really get you closer to the big question at hand.
Your curiosity was eating at you, so you asked, "Hey, Finn? Are we close to where we're going? We've been walking for a good while now. I mean, I did just get out of an infirmary not too long ago, so maaayyybe this isn't the best for my legs haha..." You laughed a little nervously while said boy just looked back and gave you his iconic toothy grin. "I promise, we're almost there," he reassured you enthusiastically, "You're gonna love it, dude." He seemed exponentially ecstatic about where you were going, his smile never fading even as he turned back to look where he was going. You rolled your eyes and scoffed a bit with a smile on your face. Finn noticed this and raised his eyebrow. "What's up," he asked, laughing a little through his words, "something you find funny?" You smiled at him brightly, nodding your head.
"I have no idea where you're taking me," you began to say, turning your attention back in front of you, "but your excitement about it is really nice to see." Finn urged you to continue as he didn't quite catch what you meant. You let out a small hum as you put your words together in a better way. "I mean in a sense that since you're really excited about it, it must be an interest that you like a lot. Other people indulging in your own interests is always really cool since you get to bond with them over them, y'know?" You looked back to see Finn smile once again, indicating he finally got your point. As if it were contagious, you smiled back, turning your attention back to what was ahead of you. Finn began to speak again,
"Well," he dragged on the word, pushing through some bushes that lead into a clearing in the woods, "good thing we're here then," he looked over to you, "so we can, y'know, bond n' stuff." You were too enthralled with admiring the beauty of the clearing to notice Finn studying your expressions next to you. The clearing had a couple of stumps in the middle, the rest of it being full of grass, flowers, and a few large stones here and there. The trees surrounding it had a thick canopy that only made the area stand out even more, the sun shining bright on all the beautiful foliage. There was even a small river that ran along the opposite side you and Finn were on, the water flowing gently as a few small woodland creatures drank from it. Said woodland creatures noticed the two of you arrive and scurried away. Finn noticed you had been quiet for a bit, getting a little nervous about the silence. "So," he started, "do you-"
"Finn, this place is beautiful." You'd cut him off, not breaking your gaze with the area as you stared in awe. A smile made its way onto your lips. "Awe, Finn, don't tell me you're trying to charm me with some alone time~" You teased, giggling after your statement.
"NO!! No, no, no," Finn's face turned pink for a second or two as he chuckled along with you, his face returning to normal as he explained himself, "I actually brought you here for a much different reason!" He walked to the center, setting his backpack down on a stump and motioning you to follow. As you did so, he picked up a sword-sized branch from the ground. "I actually brought you here," he stepped back, getting into a fighting position and pointing the branch in your direction, "TO HELP YOU TRAIN," he gave you a smile and stood back in his normal, relaxed position, "Y'know, since you want to be a hero here in Ooo as well, I thought it'd be a good idea to train you as soon as possible! Obviously we'll start with branches and gradually move into using our swords, but for now," he picked up a second branch, holding it out to you, "we'll start with these." You stood there for a second, taking it all in, before grinning, taking the branch, and trying to replicate the pose Finn did as best you could.
