Aria

I woke up to the my alarm playing really loud and the smell of coffee.

I stretched out in bed and slowly got up, Josh's shirt ending right at my thighs. Slowly walking out of my room I saw Josh walking around the kitchen making breakfast.

"Josh?" I asked as I walked closer to him.

"Good morning, cupcake." He said as he smiled over his shoulder.

"When did you get back?" I questioned as I ignored the way he glanced at my appearance.

He's seen me like this hundreds of times before.

"Around 5 this morning, I wanted to make some breakfast before you left." He said as he serves us our plates of pancakes, bacon and sunny side up eggs.

"Oh okay..." I replied still a bit confused.

"Oh yeah I brought a box of your clothes and shoes, my mom had also bought you some new shirts so she sent that as well." He said as we sat down to eat.

"I also stopped by the cafe to get this."

Josh stood up and walked over to the counter and handed me a caramel frappe with a banana bread cupcake.

He knows the way to my heart.

"And this is for?" I asked as I took it from him and began eating the breakfast he made.

"Aria, I'm sorry for leaving you like that. You're my best friend, things aren't supposed to be awkward between us. I... I missed you and it felt so wrong to be apart from you." He said as he sat down next to me.

I swallowed nervously as he just smiled sadly and began eating his own breakfast.

A few minutes later I helped him clean up our plates and wash the dishes.

Without saying anything to him, I took hold of his hand and walked to my room.

I sat down on my bed with him copying my actions.

"You're my best friend Josh, I hate when things get weird with us and I don't want to loose you or our friendship. You're my other half, without you life gets weird and I loose so much sleep. Please just come to me next time." I told him quietly.

"I will, I promise." He replied as he smiled down at me.

I finally smiled back and threw my arms around him.

He laughed as he fell back onto my bed and wrapped his arms around my waist tightly.

"I missed you, cupcake." I mumbled into his chest.

"I missed you so much more, Aria." He mumbled as he sighed out in relief.

"Wait, have you slept?" I asked him as I sat up on his waist. I tried to move off of him but his hands held me place on top of him.

"No, I wanted to make sure you ate before you left." He told me and that's when I realized how tired his eyes looked.

I frowned and ignored the warm feeling in my chest.

He knew about my little problem, even if I never voiced it out loud.

"Let's sleep in, yeah?" I told him as I leaned down on his chest looking up at him.

"You don't have anything to do today?" Josh asked as he began playing with my hair, which probably looked like a birds nest right now.

"I've been going with Cory to class these past few days but I'll just show up later." I told him as I yawned quietly.
