Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels

Aria
"Oh, This one's bad." Topanga said as we both leaned against the door hearing Maya and Riley shout at each other.
"It's Riley and Maya," Cory started.
"They love each other." Auggie finished smiling nervously.
"No, this one's really bad." I replied with a long sigh.
"It'll go away." Cory waved off.
"They're gonna marry eachother." Auggie continued.

I sat on my vanity chair as I quietly did my makeup and listened to Lana Del Rey playing from my phone.
"Hey, cupcake, where are you going today?" Josh said walking into my room with his usual cheesy smile.
"I was thinking of going to class with Cory, what about you?" I replied as I applied my blush with a big fluffy brush.
"Let's go get some breakfast." Josh said a little too quickly. I glanced at him through my mirror and saw him sitting on my bed as he tied his shoes.
"What's the occasion?" I asked playfully.
It's been a while since he's asked me to hang out with him.
"What? I can't invite my amazing bestfriend out to breakfast? I miss spending time with you, and besides, you've been spending too much time with Riley and her friends." He finished off with a small frown.
"Riley and her friends, who are becoming my friends as well, are really fun to be around. But since you insist on taking me to breakfast, okay. I want to go get a smoothie." I told him as I took the curlers out of my hair.
"Great! I'll let you get changed." Josh replied with his normal smile back on his face.
He quickly stood up, wiped off his hands on his jeans and walked out whistling to himself.
Strange.
Once I slipped on a tight pink long sleeve and some black leggings with my fuzzy slippers I made my way out to find Josh on the couch watching Scooby Doo.
"You ready gorgeous?" He asked as I got my small purse ready.
"Yup." I said as I applied some of my lipgloss.
He glanced back and looked me over quickly before clenching his jaw tightly.
Before I could ask what was wrong he stood up and made his way over to me smiling.
"Alright beautiful, let's get going."

"What would you two like today?" Maya's mom said smiling warmly as we walked up to the front.
"A strawberry smoothie and banana bread please." I told her as I returned the smile.
I felt Josh swing our locked hands quietly beside me as he watched me order.
"And for you mister?"
"I'll get uh... a cinnamon roll with a cup of milk please." Josh replied as he took out his wallet.
"Perfect, give me a sec."
"Oh yeah, I uh, I got you something." Josh said as we both got our drinks and food from Katie.
"Really? What is it?" I said narrowing my eyes at him as I took a sip from my drink.
"I know you like reading so I bought you a bookshelf, I have it in my room but I wanted it to be a surprise. I also want to take you to Barnes and Nobles so you can pick out some books. I was going to bring back the ones from back home but I thought you'd like to get some new ones." Josh said as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
