A/N
It's been a few months but I'm back and so much better! I thought I'd get this update out in honor of Miss Hurricane Hilary.
I live in California so this weather is... interesting and honestly, us in Cali have no type of survival instincts when it comes to hurricanes so let's hope this one isn't too bad. Stay safe! -Leslie🩷

Girl Meets Hurricane
•Aria
I laughed as my dad joked around beside me, Maya on the other side of me. All three of us laughing as my dad tried feeding me cake.
"Okay, evening over!" Cory shouted.
"Did you girls do your homework?" He asked the two younger girls.
"I did excellent work." Riley replied smiling.
"I also did excellent work." Maya replied.
"One of them is completely lying." I said scoffing as I help back a laugh.
"Can you guess who?" Riley said looking at me.
"Give them a hint."
"You guys need a hint?"
"No." Both Cory and my dad said together.
"You know, a little discipline isn't a bad thing, Maya." Cory began as he lectured Maya for like the 10th time this week.
"Oh, thanks, Mr. Matthews. I'll ponder on that." Maya replied as Riley began doing weird head movements.
Why is she so strange.
"I'm sorry, what?" My dad asked sounding somewhat concerned for the girl sitting in front of us.
She didn't reply as she did the same head movement again.
"Yeah, just because you do the same weird gesture twice doesn't mean I get it." My dad said side eyeing the strange girl.
"I don't even get my sweet, sweet girl." I told her frowning softly.
"You know, this is usually the part of the evening when people give out fatherly advice." She said causing me to snicker slightly.
"Oh! No, I'm not really good with those serious talks, Aria should know." My dad said trying to get out of what Riley was trying to do.
I laugh quietly as I stand up from in between them, hoping Riley's little plan would end up working in the long run.
"Aaaaannddddd the last time we had a talk, it brought us closer. I think Maya here deserves some advice from an awkward but amazing dad, while I go seek motherly advice somewhere that smells like cake." I told him, silently letting him know that it was okay.
I don't feel jealous of the bond slowly but surely growing between them, I know what an amazing guy my dad is, Maya sees it too.
I'd be able to sleep better knowing that my dad is helping a girl who is missing a parent feel like she found the father she never had in someone else.
I walk over to Topanga and Katy, both of them leaning closer to me.
"I will never be able to understand how selfless you are, my beautiful girl." Topanga said kissing the side of my head softly.
"I won't ever be able to thank you enough Aria..." Katy said as we all watched Maya and my dad talking.
"There's nothing to thank me for." I replied smiling as my heart warmed in my chest.
