The hour ended up ticking away and there were only 5 people that made it out of the third round. All of them sat in a circle as the speakers finally went off.

"The third phase has ended, the final test shall begin shortly. Everyone, please prepare accordingly."

The group sighed at the sound of the speaker looking around with worried expressions. The first one to speak was Koichi, who was the fourth person to pass the third round of the exam.

"What do you think the final test is gonna be?"

Is it gonna be another mental one... I hope not...

Koichi shivered at the thought as another participant answered him.

"I'm not sure... hopefully it's not too hard compared to the other ones."

The only reason I passed the last one is because of when we trained at UA with Lullaby... I would've been screwed if I didn't have that training...

Yu, otherwise known as Mt. Lady, shivered at the idea, having been the fifth and final person to pass the third exam.

Dabi scoffed at the two nervous idiots, "Doesn't matter, I just gotta pass it."

Then I can go home and fucking take a three-day nap... this exam was way too stressful...

Dabi was brought out of his grievances as Mirko, having recovered from her near-death warranting injuries thanks to a certain bird, slapped him on the back, "That's the spirit, Staples! Then afterward we can get some grub, I'm starving."

I haven't eaten anything all day... wonder if they have a curry place nearby?

Hawks sighed at as he watched the group dive into antics, Mirko and Dabi arguing about what constitutes actual food. Meanwhile, Mt. Lady was telling Koichi about her boyfriend that sounded suspiciously like the idiot that pissed off Dabi at the end of the second round.

They have no idea what they're in for...

Hawks knew the context of the final test, and even if they had 100 people pass the third round it wouldn't have been enough. The final test was impossible to pass...

Well except for me that is...

It just so happened that the final test was perfectly designed so he could pass it... albeit with some struggles involved...

Too bad... but that's how it is...

He may have let his guard down for a little bit... much to the enjoyment of Dabi who kept sending him smug looks... but that was just once.

I still have a mission...

'Participants, please leave the waiting room and enter the stage of the final test.'

The group stopped their conversations at the sound of the speakers, getting up to leave toward the next testing ground.

Hawks followed behind them with a cold determination.

I won't fail.

..............

Dabi was standing around the others at the site of the final test, a battleground the size of a small city district with no one in sight. The roof open to show a blue sky above them, just watching them waste time.

What the fuck are we supposed to do?

They had been called here thirty minutes ago and nothing had happened since. The speakers had just told them to prepare accordingly.
